About

Astral Alarm wakes you when you enter REM sleep, the dream phase that out-of-body and lucid dreaming practice is built around. Set a wake window, tap Sleep and go to bed. Through the night your Apple Watch follows your heart rate and wrist movement and estimates which sleep stage you are in. When a REM phase begins inside your window, the alarm goes off. If no REM phase is found, it rings at your latest time, so you never oversleep. HOW IT WORKS • Choose the earliest and latest time you want to be woken. • Tap Sleep when you lie down. • The watch estimates light, deep and REM sleep through the night. • The alarm rings at the first REM phase in your window. SNOOZE TO THE NEXT REM PHASE Snooze does not count minutes. It waits for your next REM phase and wakes you then, or at your latest time if none comes. TRACK YOUR RESULTS In the morning, see your night as a timeline of sleep stages and rate how your practice went from 0 to 100%. Astral Alarm keeps 30 days of nights in a graph of wake-up times and results, so you can see what works for you. Tap any night for its details. TUNED TO YOU If you use Apple's sleep tracking, Astral Alarm reads your recent nights to learn your own typical REM heart rate and adjusts its detection to match. A sensitivity setting lets you fine-tune it further. YOUR ALARM, YOUR WAY • Vibration, chime, or both • Snooze and Cancel on the alarm screen • A backup notification at your latest time PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything stays on your Apple Watch. No account, no ads, no analytics, and nothing is sent anywhere. GOOD TO KNOW • Sleep stages are estimates based on heart rate and movement. Astral Alarm is not a medical device. • Tracking keeps the heart rate sensor on all night, which uses a large share of the battery. Charge your watch before bed. • Requires Apple Watch with watchOS 10 or later. No iPhone app is needed.
