Widget
Would love to have a widget option for iPhone where I can just tap the button and open front door. Instead of opening the App and choosing location and then lock. Should be even more simple.
Batteries
I am writing that this is a bug for batteries appearing in app. The lock battery is hiding so badly at bottom of screen but when I partially swipe up from bottom , I can see it fully.
Secondly , the battery on top right corner for iPhone is cutting off and a different colour. I have a screenshot and let me know how to send it so it can be fixed in the next update.

Works great
Don’t have to worry about locking the door anymore. Unlocking could work faster though.

I like the efficiency and how easy it is to work lol but I think it is good expertly when u don’t like having to keep track of ur keys because if you were born in my generation (gen alfa) you will always keep your phone on u so ur never have to worry about getting locked out

The real deal
I love this App. It’s very easy and simple to use. The best part is no keys ever again to lock or unlock your door from anywhere.
Just Works, Installs Easy
I just installed August home using my existing deadbolt. Installed fairly easily and the app is easy to use now to lock and unlock the door. I highly recommend this system for the convenience of knowing when your door is locked and when someone unlocks.
Terrible mistake to trust this
App crashes no matter what update is installed. Unable to change lock codes. I’m replacing the system.
Bad Privacy, not great app, awful lock. Remember to sort reviews by RECENT not HELPFUL.
The lock eats batteries like crazy. The app is mediocre at best. The privacy policy for the app (below) is awful and not customer friendly. You know data brokers and billionaires are the REAL customers (not you!) when an app collects so much data and has app tracking. Even Schlage and Kwikset don’t track through their apps. There are many other options that are better with privacy included.

August Door locks
I highly recommend August locks. Easily installed and use. If you have any issues with the locks a quick call to technician and they walk you through troubleshooting your lock. The wait to get a technician on the line is is only a couple of minutes and you are actually talking to a person and not AI.

Battery life
The first one we had didn’t have issues, this second device eats up batteries like crazy!
Crashes over and over
Trying to reconfigure existing locks and this garbage just crashes over and over. I hate these locks…..
Smooth Operator
Will never have to worry about getting locked out of the house again as long as my phone is with me. Plus the convenience of being able to unlock the door for family and friends when we’re with not home or not able to answer the door
2026 update : no widget but not too bad
It was all fine and after the lastest update the widget section is now shown "unable to load"

4 years later, no regrets!
I’ve used August locks even in commercial settings for my clients. And for my AirBnb business. The biggest plus is the simple elegance. They got the engineering flawless then created a no frills app on top of it. They just work! The only request I’d make is they add battery percentage indicators to all their models-including the original locks!

Poor app matching mediocre hardware
The app has a limited functionality. It also fails to identify components connected to local WiFi network - hardware identifier, matching local IP etc. Hard to think of a more basic app to control the lock to your house. Buying it was a major mistake.

To use the app on my phone I have to be within 10 feet of the lock. I cannot lock it or unlock it from a distance.
Batteries Die Fast
It seems the batteries die super fast or one gets a msg about batteries dying very fast
