I have been using iPhone now for 6+ months and have been searching for a reliable phone muting app for probably the first 2 months: and then I came to Auto Mute! Auto Mute exceeded my expectations for a muting app!
I highly recommend this appdor those that revisit places and news their phone muted.

Like the app BUT……
I know that this app is free, but I would pay for this app if it worked properly.
I really liked this app because it does what it supposed to do, for the most part. You set it up so that it lower or mutes the volume when you are in specific areas and it works beautifully. However, it seems to be unable to reset the volume back to normal when you are not in those areas. So when you want the phone or alarms to ring, it doesn’t and this means that you miss calls, reminders etc. I’ve tried to work with this app for many years and thought that it was my iPhone that kept going wrong, but it wasn’t the iPhone, it was this app. I just got a new iPhone and hadn't put the app back on yet for several weeks. Phone was working fine but as soon as I put the app on it started missing calls, reminders etc. So as much as I like what this app is supposed to do, I am going to permanently delete it from my phone. I would rather be embarrassed while I'm sitting in church when my phone rings, rather than missing a reminder, meetings or important phone calls, and I have the confidence to know that my phone will ring when it supposed to ring.

Great app
Exactly as described. This app makes life easier.
Stopped working
I purchased this app about 2 years ago. Initially I was very happy with it as it did what was promised. It muted and unmuted based on my settings. Now it mutes when I enter places it’s set to mute but does not unmute when I leave the location.

This app is clunky and is a complete disaster! I am requesting an immediate refund for the 1.99 used to purchase this app that does not work as stated.

Simple and effective
I have been using AutoMute for a couple of years now. It is highly effective, muting the phone when I am at work or at a club meeting and putting it back as I leave. Very occasionally the mute slips off but that’s always been when I have set the sensitivity radius too tight or when I have been in an area with dodgy GPS. That’s no criticism of the app, you just have to work within the limitations of your phone’s location service. I recently asked the author a question and received a prompt helpful reply. Recommend.

Never Forget to Mute Again
There is nothing worse then being that guy who forgot to mute the ringer in the meeting, or missing the important phone call in the evening because your phone was still muted.
Thanks to Auto Mute by Location that guy is not me anymore. For work, or the theatre, It’s got me covered. Ok yes I recommend Auto Mute to others.

Works great but drains battery
I had such high hopes for this app. I bought it and it worked great, but it is constantly running your location in the background. I think it running based on scheduled days and times would be better. Do you have an app to do that?

Works perfectly.
Tried a number of different approaches to muting my iPhone at locations. At first, I just used the Ring/Silence switch on the side of the phone. Works, but after 3 days of no one calling you, you realize you forgot to turn the ringer back on.
OK, then I’ll set a reminder to alert me when I get near my location. Worked until I got a new car, and my phone connects by Bluetooth to the car, and reminders don’t give any sound at all when I reach my destination! (There is a painful work around for this, but I’m too stubborn and to lazy to use it!)
Finally found Auto Mute by Location. I initially had a problem where the phone wouldn’t unmute after leaving the location, but it turned out to be a cockpit problem: I had the parameter set wrong for what the app would do when I left the location. I had it set to turn the sound up, instead of a to unmute.
The developer was very patient with me, and after several emails, showed me what the problem was. Great customer service! And, I don’t know of any other app that would do the same function! Five stars.

Works halfway
Mutes whenever you enter a setup location. Good. BUT, doesn’t immure when you leave. BAD. Well, it unmutes some apps, but does not immure my phone and some other apps. I have to manually switch sounds off and on.
Take your phone anywhere
It is so great to be able to take your phone anywhere. ( church, movies, theatre) and know you're not going to be embarrassed over a loud notification but still can be contacted. Better than just putting your phone on silent because it remembers to turn sound on again. Thank you
Does not work
I tried everything and simply does not work on iPhone 6 and 7. Unreliable at best.

Please direct me how to contact you. When I go to website there is a 404 error. I paid for this app and it doesn’t work properly. Will change review score when this is fixed or I am refunded.

Recently the app has not worked reliably. Randomly it will not mute st a previously set location. If I open the app, it starts working again.

Unreliable
I used this for a while (because I don't get many calls, before realizing that the app only works if you don't silence your phone) if you do it counteracts it. This wouldn't be a problem except the app frequently switches off for no discernible reason.
