What's New in MailShot

10.1

October 3, 2022

An optional plugin is now available to verify the email domains for a group, a common reason that group emails can be rejected by your email provider. It will also test domains on any new addresses that you add.  Tap "Check" on a group for more details.

Does not include mail merge

This is only the disappointment I have is that you can’t add placeholders into in-line spaces to add name last name and company, etc. You should be able to create a template with subject and body text where you can add named links, in line placeholders, using templates for both subject and body text. Otherwise this is a very pedestrian app. Sorry to say, but, you can send to groups in the iOS contacts app, as well as almost any other mail app like Spark. Make at least some of these improvements and I will change my review to five stars.

Use it several times a week

User friendly and functional for my needs. So inexpensive for what it does.

Happy Camper

I was using another app for all contacts, groups, literally hundreds a week. Sorted and then…
After yrs of happy results, POOF! It’s GONE!
Enter MAIL SHOT. Good. No, better, and helpful immediate support when I found my first glitch. Worked like a train after that quick fix from Peter J. Thank You again.

Great Group Communicator

I had to send email out to 40 people occasionally. This was the best thing to use. Set up contacts from your phone contacts or hand enter some. Very easy to use. Customer service is very quick and helpful. Thank you!!

Two stars for the iPhone version

Once the recipients’ names are filled in the keyboard covers the subject line and message area. It would be really helpful if the keyboard remained at the bottom of the screen. Thanks!

FAQ

What does MailShot do?

MailShot is an application designed to simplify sending emails to groups of people. It allows you to create custom groups, send emails directly to them, share documents, and forward messages. The app offers flexibility in managing contacts, including the ability for individuals to use different email addresses for different groups.

How can I create groups in MailShot?

You can create groups in several ways. You can add contacts directly from your address book, import an existing address book group, enter email addresses manually, or paste strings of names and addresses. The app also allows you to add contacts who are not stored in your main address book.

Is MailShot free to use?

The app offers a free trial with limitations on the number of groups and contacts per group. An in-app upgrade is available to unlock the full capabilities, allowing for a significantly larger number of groups and contacts, with limits potentially influenced by your email provider.

How does MailShot protect privacy?

MailShot helps protect privacy by allowing you to place recipient email addresses in the Bcc: line when sending group emails. This ensures that individual email addresses are not visible to other recipients in the group.

What are the benefits of using MailShot over regular address book groups?

MailShot offers advanced features not found in standard address book groups. Notably, contacts can be associated with different email addresses for each specific group, and you can include contacts in your groups even if they are not saved in your device's main address book.
