I’m a car dealer devices to try Autotrader. I use to love Autotrader when I was a kid and they would put out the magazine once a week. So I figured I would give them a shot
I paid $29. To simply have scammers send me about 6 messages a day same messages copied and past with burner phone numbers wasting my time
I haven’t got a single legit possible customer from this app

One Stop
AutoTrader is the best out there, able to do everything in one huge marketplace, love it!
Scams are crazy on here
I paid to sell a car on your platform $50 in 2 days 20 messages and all were obvious scammers not a single valid inquire on the car you guys have to get control of this platform. Add a feature where you can not message a seller unless you present a valid drivers license. Come on I will not renew my listing if you can not controll the scams it’s insane.

Ok w glitches
Pretty good search and save. The biggest issue is messaging w seller the stupid AI button is over the send arrow option. Why auto trader just why?????? Stupid F AI
Super Glitchy
Every time I use this app, it either is unresponsive or it glitches while I’m in it. Should happen especially if I’m using an iPhone 17.
Spam
The app is riddled with spam and regressive. Autotrader has been a go to for automotive sales in the past but they no longer care about user safety or app UX.
Everyone is a scammer
I am selling my car on AutoTrader and I’m not exaggerating when I say that 11 out of 12 of messages I’ve received have all asked me to come off the app and message them directly with a variation of I’ll pay you full price for the car.
How is AutoTrader not putting better controls on this. I’ve flagged every post. They have to know this is a major problem.

Search by ventilated seats please. That is a deal breaker in hot climates
How to make Autotrader better
Stop all the unwanted pop-ups whenever you open up a car to view and make the pictures larger and for modified cars leave a section in there where the owners can list the modifications

The app works but the reason I am giving it 4 stars is because the images sometimes don’t load and are very blurry. Still a good app to browse vehicles though.

App sucks iPhone battery like no other
I’ve been using this app on iOS regularly for several years, and it’s consistently the most “power hungry” app I have. It frequently slows down my phone even when just browsing listings. It runs the battery down by double digit percent over a few tens of minutes. There are frequent in-app feedback surveys, but I no longer bother: if the developer isn’t using monitoring to see how performance sucks then they have more fundamental problems then asking users to help prioritize the feature backlog. Please do better, you’re the market leader but it won’t last if you’re sloppy.

DARK MODE PLEEEEEASE
This app is so fricken bright all the dang time, it’s one of my favorites, I will update this 4 star to a 5 star when I get a dark mode. Everything else is perfect.
One gripe
Have been enjoying the app for quite some time. I might go to the app to kill time searching cars. My biggest gripe is that the app doesn’t tell you which vehicle has been sold from your favorite vehicles. Just get an email that says “ fill in the blank vehicle” if gone. But if you had multiple vehicles of that model saved to your favorites, you don’t know which one it is. It has been sold. It doesn’t give you a thumbnail or show you the listing. And disappears from your favorites.
