It was a good app, but not since this year
Functional app, albeit with pricy plans.
It’s unfortunate that you’re unable to interact on a desktop with the map layers (features/points/lines) that get created on my phone. It’s clunky to organize these layers on the phone app, tbh, and hard to tell which map sheets the layers are connected to if the map set gets updated (i.e., Back Roads Map Books). Perhaps there’s a way and I just can’t find the right user guide for this.
My one other minor gripe, which would be easily fixable, is to add a Campsite icon/symbol to the placemark list! I’ve written to Avenza twice in the last 5 years to provide this feedback (and I bet I’m not the only one) , but no action. Seriously now - there’s a WiFi icon but no campsite icon? I end up using a specific coloured pin, which is fine, but it makes me think there’s no one on the Blue Marble dev team because a dedicated icon seems like a no-brainer and low effort resolution to an improvement suggested by a long-term customer.
Other than that, I enjoy using Avenza and their map library is extensive.
I want my $50 back!

Price Gouging Greedy New Owners
By the original CEO. Since then they have increased the price forcing customers to pay 4.5 x more than they did prior, now we have to buy the pro version and they took away functions from the plus version. You’ve lost a customer forever and everyone is talking about doing the same. Horrible decision making fueled by greed, thanks for ruining a great app for people that relied on it and loved it for work.
