Usability

It would be nice to be able to search words and phrases

Italian

I find the app to be very easy and very efficient. I'm learning so much I have been studying for almost a year went to Italy last October. I've studied since July and then went to Italy. It was fun and BabbelItalian
mad it so much easier.

Asside

The matter for this innovation is that seem-ably it has some comprehensive features as though for someone to arise in lingual inclinations for acquaintance. It has levels for someone to achieve perfect standards from its apparent institution. The person would have to be correspondent so that the attain fine is at stake.

There needs to be more languages

Babbel is a great app, but why do you only have 14 languages? I opened the app expecting a whole buffet of languages and instead got the kids’ menu. Please add more languages before I start learning French from a baguette

My opinion about this app

It’s pretty much too expensive and I don’t even like it. Besides, who even learns to speak Spanish nowadays?!!

Babbel is the best

I’ve tried them all and Babbel is the best. Just sign up and start enjoying it!

Used to be good

Indonesian learner. This app used to have drills where after a lesson two fictional people would have a conversation using the vocabulary discussed in the lesson. I found this to be great for learning but it seems to have been removed. Otherwise I'd say as a long time user it is not sufficient to learn a new language, it seems focused on increasing vocabulary and falls short on teaching grammar or other aspects of the language. It is good if used in conjunction with a tutor or immersing yourself in the language but not a great all around language learning app. They also see to be mainly focused on European languages which is fine with Indonesian being the one exception (at the time of writing this) which is fine but dose limit the app for those seeking to learn Asian, African or other languages.

Review

Its honestly unorganized and doesnt start with the basics like grammar structure as a base. Just jumps right into words and a lesson will teach one or two subjects like pronouns and articles with no explanation of the other words in the sentence. Honestly, I want a refund

Deceptive subscription practices.

Update: babbel is very sneaky about subscription renewals. You can’t even see your subscription status in the app, much less find a way to cancel. You can’t even control it via the App Store. Beware. But I’ve only done like 3 lessons and it asks me to rate it every time. Bad UX.

Bought a lifetime paid upfront membership then they reduce the features and languages.

Don’t like bait and switch.

Complete disappointment

The app looks well-designed, but the lack of Russian for the interface makes it impossible for me to use. It is a huge disappointment. Please add Russian so more people can learn with your app.

Just so so

Very hard to navigate if you want to start over. The jump from A1 to B1 seems like kindergarten to graduate school

Great!! but overpriced!

Great app but extremely over priced for people trying to find a cheaper alternative this is not it. But if you are willing sacrifice a little more money for a more in depth system/ program this is the best option for you.

Frustrating

The lessons are good, but too focused on grammatical accuracy using terms that are difficult. Also the best feature for me is the review where I can practice speaking or listening, which suddenly has disappeared as an option

Funciona mas é ultrapassado

Para 2026, há poucos recursos de conversação que outros aplicativos possuem. Falta uma parte para anotações e mais conteúdo de podcasts. O conteúdo não é personalizado e isso para os padrões atuais é bem ruim. Mas de todo, o app consegue entregar um aprendizado regular.

Dabbling for travel

Switched from Spanish to Norwegian to go on holiday there Was easy to do, to get some basics and being able to change through the various topics was good.
It would be nice to be able to just listen and not have to interact while commuting to and from work; adding an hour of language learning!

Clueless Tech Support- iPhone issue

Awful Support they have no clue what’s they are doing and will only give you prompts. The application isn’t working on my phone two chats out and they both stop talking because they have zero technical expertise between the both of them. I have a life time subscription and this is help you with get if you encounter a problem.

Old Fashioned, Outdated

If you learn languages best the way they were taught to you in school, this is the app for you. But if your brain isn’t good at that very non-intuitive style of teaching, try something else. The approach used is good for people who are already good at learning languages. If you’ve struggled to learn languages in the past, get an audio book or duolingo or something that isn’t going to make you learn a bunch of grammatical terminology and confusing categorizations
