I know I put 5 stars but I actually rated this a 2. I downloaded this app so I can learn French and I also just turned 13 a month ago so where do they think I’m getting money to pay them from? Not my parents, my own money. I only got to do one lesson before they locked everything and said I have to pay for everything else. This app might be good if you’re willing to pay the money but if you can’t or don’t want to don’t waste your storage. I'm going back to Duolingo

Great to dip in and out, topping up vocab and reading it in context also helps with getting to grips with complex verb patterns. Loving getting back to French, it is so satisfying! Also love tuning into French en Route podcasts when I do my ironing. It’s such a versatile language learning site. Love it!

Almost perfect
I think Babbel is spot on with the way it explains grammar and gives a mixed approach of learning new words and so on. Plus, it doesn’t seem to be entirely AI dominated (thank goodness).
My only problem is with the revision - I often feel like I want to go over stuff already covered a few times before moving forward with the next lesson, but the revision aspect of the app just throws seemingly random phrases at you and if you get them wrong, I’m not sure if there’s an effective way to revise them (je veux fait les répétitions!) still worthwhile, but the revision aspect right is a bit dull and feels unfocused. (Keep up the great work though!)

I was very disappointed. This app is from olden days, type letter by letter, disjointed instructions, unhelpful teaching. I am canceling and going back to Duo.
Can’t Chang how I learn
I am learning Spanish every thing is fine but I can’t change the point of the lessons I’m trying to stop the point on reading and on speaking and I can’t I am frustrated because I paid for the longer time subscription
Pricing gimmicks try to force you to commit without even trying the app.
I wanted a structured way to learn, but this app tries to lock you into paying a huge chunk of money upfront for multiple months. They put a cheap 'per month' price in big bold text to trick you, but the fine print forces you to drop $45 to over $100 all at once. I’m trying to learn a language, not sign a lease on a house
You don't even have to get rid of your long-term bundles, but at least give users the basic option to pay a normal, single month-to-month fee so we can stop whenever we want. I’m skipping this app completely because of these greedy tricks.

Great App
Love that this app allows you to make note cards to review phrases so that you ensure you’re ready to move on. Other apps just keep moving you along and you can forget things. You can keep your streak alive by just reviewing flash cards

Zero stars
This app sucks!!! If you value privacy don’t get it. They disabled privacy settings so you cannot opt out from them selling all your info to 3rd parties. They also record your voice and sell your voice data too. On top of that they don’t have a live Customer Service, the only way to contact them is Email which takes forever for them to get back to you. Absolutely zero stars for this privacy sell out company!

I love the way Babbel introduces new words and phrases. I just wish Portuguese had more conversational practices like Spanish and Italian do.

So far I hate it
Week 2 and im still on how to say hello and goodbye, why is this so difficult? There are 3 Spanish words for the word “are” and I can’t figure it out at all. I end up quitting in under 10 minutes every day but I go back again and haven’t picked up a thing. This app makes me feel like I’m incapable of learning a new language.

Your voice is used to train AI !!
I bought the year long subscription only to find out AFTER that they use your voice to train their AI. No opt out option Immediately cancelled. I am not a vessel from which to scrape my data and monetize every last scrap of my humanity and privacy.

They ask every day for a rating. Every day. I’ve submitted about 100 ratings. Enough is enough. I paid too much for this bs.
Also as an educational tool, they gloss over some really impt subjects and just expect you to know and keep up. Unlike Duolingo whose whole philosophy is; repetition, repetition, repetition, which did get old. (But at the very least was effective) … babbles philosophy is “let’s briefly discuss complicated grammar topics and then watch you fail with complicated exercises. “ they never go back. The lessons are minuscule and too fast. Disappointed tbh.

Solid steady learning
Babbel is a well designed and useful tool. Learning a language is really hard and this is the best way I’ve found to begin to build foundational learning blocks. Don’t expect to be fluent anytime soon, But if consistent you will see real progress

I was told in a ad that I'd be able to learn thai using this app but that's not a option I've heard the app is really good my friends love using it I just wish there was more languages than there are
