What a great App
Surpassed expectations
I was kinda expecting the same with this. However, I was proven dead wrong. Was every piece of data 100% accurate? No. But every bottle was identified accurately. Every single one. Single barrels, store picks, random 1 offs from long dead distilleries all captured.
And the support has been quick and easy to work with, answering questions and whatnot. IMHO, this app is well worth the money and I’m excited to see where they take it.
The best app to curate my Bourbon Collection
BarrelBook Is the Whiskey Collection Tool I Didn’t Know I Needed
As someone who evaluates whiskey in a structured way, BarrelBook fits naturally into how I think about tasting, comparisons, shelf management, and long-term palate development. It gives me a better way to organize what I own, what I’ve tried, what I want to revisit, and what I’m learning over time.
The collection tracking is excellent, the platform feels thoughtfully built, and it is clear that BarrelBook is being developed by people who understand whiskey enthusiasts. Whether you are casually tracking bottles or trying to build a more intentional, refined collection, BarrelBook provides real value.
I’m also especially excited about the experimental MCP access. For users who want deeper integrations or more advanced ways to work with their BarrelBook data, this is a really promising direction. Access is currently experimental, and you have to email BarrelBook to request it, but that makes it even more exciting for people who want to explore what is possible.
Overall, BarrelBook is one of the best bourbon and whiskey collection tools I’ve used. It has become a valuable part of how I manage my shelf, evaluate bottles, and continue learning about my palate. Highly recommended.

Response from developer
Thanks for trying BarrelBook. We’re really glad to hear you think the app is great in general, but we also hear you that the 10-bottle free limit can feel abrupt. One important clarification: you do not need the $99/year Pro plan just to grow past 10 bottles. BarrelBook Plus starts at $4.99/month, or $49/year, and supports up to 100 bottles. Pro is the unlimited tier. Paid plans help support the features that make BarrelBook more than a simple bottle list, including AI bottle scanning, photos, MSRP and secondary value tracking, search and filters, tags, ratings, tasting notes, sync, and storage. Your feedback is fair, though. We need to do a better job of showing the value earlier and clarifying the plan options. A lot of what we’re building now comes directly from collector feedback, including better lists for bottles you want, have tried, or are considering outside your owned catalog. We’re also testing power-user features that make it easier to ask questions about your own shelf and get more value from the collection you’ve already built. If there are specific features that would make BarrelBook feel more valuable for your collection, we’d genuinely like to hear them. Thanks again. Feedback like this helps us make BarrelBook clearer and better.
