Excel not Needed

Keeping track of my bottles is going to be a lot easier! This is the app I needed.

Thanks for the kind words, AtlantaUnited! We are here in Atlanta also. Reach out via the support section of the app if you need anything!

Warning Only allows 10 for free

This app only lets you add 10 to your library before asking for money. Very disappointing. I understand for the AI use but could have free manual. Look at Untapped, free with no paywall.

Response from developer

Thanks for the candid feedback, AB. Yes, the free version gives you access to all the features available in the paid plans, but only for 10 bottles. Plus supports collections of up to 100 for $4.99 per month or $49 per year (basically the price of a mid-tier bourbon). We'll give more thought to your 'manual add' idea - our concern is that it would remove many of the features that make BarrelBook different (with more on the way).

A game-changer for my project.

Our art collectible features my illustrations of bottled spirits with info about the expression, just like many trading cards. My son discovered this app recently. I was able to upload about 600 bottle photos over a few days & now I have a great database for my portfolio. Love this app. Well done!

The best whiskey inventory app I’ve used!

Get this app and for the cost of one decent bottle your annual subscription. For real.

I have tried and used several apps to inventory my collection, wishlists, tastings, etc. and they have all fallen short in one way or the other for me until I discovered BarrelBook.

Snap a couple decent pictures of your bottle and the app does 95% of the work! It’s honestly that simple!

The UI is clean and logically laid out. There is a field for basically every data point you could think of. Plus personal lists, random bottle selection, and and AI sommelier that will curate a flight from your collection just off the top of my head.

Features are being developed and added regularly.

If something is missing you can reach out to the app developer with a suggestion or for help and he is friendly and quick to respond!

Surpassed expectations

Tracking my collection has always been a giant pain. I’ve tried apps, databases, spreadsheets, etc. So either painful manual entry or apps that can’t identify the majority of the bottles (so manual entry again, but now with a fee).
I was kinda expecting the same with this. However, I was proven dead wrong. Was every piece of data 100% accurate? No. But every bottle was identified accurately. Every single one. Single barrels, store picks, random 1 offs from long dead distilleries all captured.
And the support has been quick and easy to work with, answering questions and whatnot. IMHO, this app is well worth the money and I’m excited to see where they take it.

The best app to curate my Bourbon Collection

I have tried several apps to keep track of my collection and BB is by far the best app out there. My first draw was AI ability to take information from the label and place data in the correct places with fairly high accuracy. I also like that it will also look at secondary markets and provide a price. I have to admit, it is nice to know the value of the secondary market appreciation as it makes each sip even savior. While, I do think the subscription price is a little high, after I logged my entire collection of 100+ bottles into the app, I recognized the savings in my time that the app provided. Additionally, they recently added a wish list capability, so I can easily ask permission from the wife to buy other bottles. If you are looking for that one full feature app to catalog your entire alcohol collection, this is the one to have.

BarrelBook Is the Whiskey Collection Tool I Didn’t Know I Needed

BarrelBook has quickly become one of the most useful tools in my whiskey journey. What I appreciate most is that it goes beyond simply tracking bottles — it helps me understand my collection, my palate, and the role each bottle plays on my shelf.

As someone who evaluates whiskey in a structured way, BarrelBook fits naturally into how I think about tasting, comparisons, shelf management, and long-term palate development. It gives me a better way to organize what I own, what I’ve tried, what I want to revisit, and what I’m learning over time.

The collection tracking is excellent, the platform feels thoughtfully built, and it is clear that BarrelBook is being developed by people who understand whiskey enthusiasts. Whether you are casually tracking bottles or trying to build a more intentional, refined collection, BarrelBook provides real value.

I’m also especially excited about the experimental MCP access. For users who want deeper integrations or more advanced ways to work with their BarrelBook data, this is a really promising direction. Access is currently experimental, and you have to email BarrelBook to request it, but that makes it even more exciting for people who want to explore what is possible.

Overall, BarrelBook is one of the best bourbon and whiskey collection tools I’ve used. It has become a valuable part of how I manage my shelf, evaluate bottles, and continue learning about my palate. Highly recommended.

100$ a year

App in general is great and that’s why I downloaded it. But you can only store 10 bottles unless you pay 100$ for a year 🙄. Not worth the money.

Response from developer

Thanks for trying BarrelBook. We’re really glad to hear you think the app is great in general, but we also hear you that the 10-bottle free limit can feel abrupt. One important clarification: you do not need the $99/year Pro plan just to grow past 10 bottles. BarrelBook Plus starts at $4.99/month, or $49/year, and supports up to 100 bottles. Pro is the unlimited tier. Paid plans help support the features that make BarrelBook more than a simple bottle list, including AI bottle scanning, photos, MSRP and secondary value tracking, search and filters, tags, ratings, tasting notes, sync, and storage. Your feedback is fair, though. We need to do a better job of showing the value earlier and clarifying the plan options. A lot of what we’re building now comes directly from collector feedback, including better lists for bottles you want, have tried, or are considering outside your owned catalog. We’re also testing power-user features that make it easier to ask questions about your own shelf and get more value from the collection you’ve already built. If there are specific features that would make BarrelBook feel more valuable for your collection, we’d genuinely like to hear them. Thanks again. Feedback like this helps us make BarrelBook clearer and better.

Well Thought Out

Wow, this is such a well thought out App. The AI image recognition takes it to the next level. The “Tonight’s Pour” or “Wheel of Bourbon” is a fun feature. The “Bourbon Somelier” lets a newbie look like a professional. 👍

DJ, Thank you for the review and your support!

This app makes my hobby more organized.

This app has made my bottle tracking so much easier. I hated going to a store and not being sure if I already had a bottle or not. Now with BarrelBook I can simply open the app and compare my collection to what is available on the shelves. I do also love that I can share my collection with my friends. It makes bottle shares so much more fun as we can look at what is potentially available to share.

Cew, Thanks the awesome review! Glad to hear the app is useful for you. I’m especially happy to hear you are sharing your collections with friends. It’s one of my favorite features - especially getting ready to do a bottle share. Some cool new stuff in the way!

Great app so far

Love it so far, I’d been looking for a way to keep track of my bottles other than making a spreadsheet and came across this. Only suggestion so far is that it would be awesome if the “spin to pick a pour” filters had an option for open bottles vs. unopened bottles. I try to keep my open bottles to a minimum but sometimes want to open one I haven’t tried yet.

A must for bourbon nerds

Finally a good way to track my bourbon catalogue. You can tell it was really well thought through and has all the features/attributes I’d want as a bourbon nerd.

Love the use of AI to upload bottles, makes it super easy. Also enjoy being able to make my own tastings and see what other people are sipping on.

Best Bourbon tracking App

Love this - exactly what I was looking for to track my bottle collection. It’s so easy to add bottles and collect market information with the AI label scanning. I’m kicking myself for wasting time manually entering info in my other app.
The app allows you to add a lot of other relevant info so it suits your needs, and I keep seeing more features getting added all the time. Tags, filtering, and searching make it so easy to pull up what you want. Having multiple photos of my actual bottles is great when I want to look up a detail or share info with my bourbon buddys.
Ditch the other apps and spreadsheets - get this one.

Great App for Bottle Inventory, Pricing, and Accuracy!

BarrelBook is a lifesaver for managing bottles. Its inventory capabilities are incredibly effective, and the pricing feature is simple yet powerful. I especially love the fill level detection with the slide bar—so intuitive! The camera experience makes photo capture much more accurate and focused, adding even more precision to my inventory. If you need a top-notch tool for whiskey bottle management, this is it!

Love the concept of using AI to add your bottles to a collection book simply using pictures. Works great, can’t wait to see the AI learn and get better and better!

Best app for Bourbon Inventory

Easy to use. Like that you can take pics and upload later while enjoying a pour or two. Great app support as well. 10/10

The first app that actually handles store picks

BarrelBook is the first whiskey collection app that actually works for collectors with store picks, private barrels, and batch variations. Instead of collapsing bottles into generic entries, it lets you catalog the exact bottle you own with editable details. The photo-to-catalog workflow is fast, accurate, and built for real bourbon and whiskey enthusiasts. If you’ve ever gone back to spreadsheets after trying other apps, this one finally replaces them.
