Great workouts, terrible app that Barry’s has abandoned
There’s very little new content, and the search and filtering are awful. You can’t even search by medium or heavy weights. Classes are frequently mislabeled, so a workout that says “medium weights” may require something completely different once you actually start it.
The app also crashes far too often. Worse, if it crashes during a workout, the partial class frequently doesn’t appear in your history, leaving you to somehow find the class again if you want to resume it.
Even though the app supports Apple Music, the volume doesn’t work properly with the classes, so you can’t hear anything. It works with Spotify and Barry’s lame built-in streaming service, but not Apple Music.
There’s also almost none of the motivation Barry’s builds into its studios. No meaningful milestones, rewards, or recognition for classes completed. More than a year ago, Barry’s promised Ride + Lift classes, and they still haven’t appeared.
This could have been an amazing extension of Barry’s and a genuine competitor to Peloton. Instead, it feels like they were afraid of cannibalizing their live classes and decided to let the digital product slowly die.
The workouts deserve better than this app. Until Barry’s actually invests in it, I’d recommend Peloton or another online fitness platform instead.
Great workout anytime anywhere.
Help, I’m stuck in BFE w/out a Barry’s
playlist to go along with the workout we can follow along with to have music match the highs and lows of the workout. Also they need a nicer studio to record these workouts. Other than that, It’s fine. -Wayne

Great Instructors But Infant Execution
You cannot effectively listen to your music while listening to the instructor (bc they don’t have music rights). If no music rights then add visual cues at the bottom of the screen for run changes. Same goes for weight training!
The viewing screen is small horizontal vs full screen vertical or horizontal. Without full screen how is anyone supposed to use this on their phone while in a gym.
Steep app price for subpar tech execution.
