Values not aligning
Maybe they’re losing money and about to go out of business?
But I don’t see how AI can physically make these events and build relationships with the venues we go to and make sure the space will work well in group settings, so I’m not optimistic that this business is gonna last much longer longer. I also really loved that you had to interview to get accepted, but recently heard that they’ve stopped doing that as well (probably an earlier round of layoffs).
Connect without commitment
High standards
This app insults you
On top of a subscription fee, every event costs more money. This would be fine if Base actually helped you, but instead they just give you a list and say “go for it”. No help. No suggestions.
For example, the new member event was booked solid weeks in advance and the next one was a month out on a Tuesday at noon.
And on top of everything the UX was designed by a child who wants to shove as much confusion at you at once.
No guided tours. No help from Base Inc. Disgusting

Meaningful connections
Hustlers. Don’t give them your money.
Once I downloaded the app I was looking for the connection and social aspects promised by the recruiter. Crickets. It’s an art deco styled Yelp or Opendoor.
1) All of the experiences cost additional money. Literally nothing is included. And they’re all expensive.
2) Dinner events don’t have a menu. I’d like to know what I’m paying $150-200 for ahead of time, especially as someone with food sensitivities.
3)Where are the people? There’s no group organizer listed, no list of who is attending, no message board between the members of who is on the app. Nothing. Exactly who am I connecting with?
4) The circles and experiences are limited.
5) I messaged to cancel my membership both in the app and to the recruiter. I’ve heard nothing at all after 24 hours. On that note…
6) There isn’t anyway to delete your account or cancel the membership.
This whole thing is a racket. A con. A swindle. It’s one of the ways capitalism is trying exploit the human need for connection and the desire to have meaningful life experiences. I’m genuinely confused as to why it’s ranked so high.
I can promise you’ll have an easier time and better experiences through your local library, Meetup group, gym, or community center. And you will do so for FREE.
Worth every penny! Great Experiences!
Not your typical social app
Nice people deserve a nice app
So much fun!!
Curated Social Club
Definitely worth it
The new wave of adult friendship-making
Base is the new wave of meaningful adult friendship-making and I’m grateful to be a part of it!
Incredible Concept
Base is the definition of meaningful community
Here’s the truth: Base isn’t networking. It’s connecting.
Every convo is thoughtful. Every event is intentional. Every person brings a perspective worth hearing.
The app is well designed and easy to navigate so I can focus on what matters…real conversations, real connections.
If you’re craving depth, not business cards—this is it.
Finally—Third Places are back
Also, Base manages to beautifully navigate cultivating a community of very professionally successful people—who still maintain humility, intellectual curiosity, and drive. I’ve really enjoyed my exposure to the members and the events, and I recommend Base to all my friends in other cities where they currently operate.
Looking forward to Base’s expansion so I can continue to seamlessly plug in to the social scene anywhere I go! (Hey guys! Please add LA/NYC soon!)
