About
Bask helps you enjoy the sun more safely. It tells you the best window to tan today for your location and skin type, keeps you inside limits that protect your skin, tracks how your tan is actually progressing, and teaches you how tanning really works — all on your device, with no account and no data collection.
WHAT BASK DOES
- Live UV, made personal — Bask combines the current UV index with your Fitzpatrick skin type to estimate a safe session length, instead of a one-size-fits-all timer.
- Your best window today — see the optimal time to be outside, with the peak UV and a safe session estimate, plotted on an hourly curve you can swipe day by day.
- Skin-type-aware limits — sessions and a daily UV "dose" are capped for your skin type, with clear warnings as you approach them and protective messaging instead of recommendations when UV is extreme.
- A session timer that respects you — it counts down to your safe limit, reminds you to reapply SPF, and warns you loudly at the cap. It never silently ends your session.
- Alarms for when you're not watching — set an alarm at your safe limit, a few minutes before it, or on a timer of your choosing, so you can put the phone down.
- Plan ahead — schedule the times you intend to tan, once or repeating on the days you choose, and Bask reminds you to check conditions before you go.
- Track your tan — measure your skin tone from a photo using ITA°, the colour metric used in dermatology research, and watch your progress against a goal over time. Every photo is analysed on your device and never leaves your phone.
- Learn as you go — a built-in, dermatology-informed guide covers how tanning works, reading UV, SPF myths, after-sun care, hydration, the Fitzpatrick scale, and notes for your own skin type.
