Don’t rent with them
I am writing to share my extremely disappointing experience with Belong home in connection with our recent rental.
Before signing, we identified serious safety and maintenance issues in the home, including loose power outlets and problems with the fireplace. We were explicitly promised that these would be fixed before our move‑in date. Despite calling repeatedly in the weeks before move‑in to remind them, nothing was done.
On our original move‑in day, with trucks rented and everything packed, we discovered that the repairs were still not completed and the home was not ready. Our start date had to be pushed back a week at the last minute, causing additional expense and stress for my family.
When we tried to move in on the rescheduled date, things got even worse. The entrance keys were missing, and we were locked out of the house for about three hours in sub‑zero temperatures. During all of this, the company was extremely difficult to reach. Calls were rarely returned, and we were passed from person to person; in total I have dealt with about six different agents, none of whom took ownership of the situation.
When we were finally able to enter, we found that the entire driveway and entrance were covered in thick ice. We could not safely park the U‑Haul or walk without risking a fall, yet we had no choice but to carry our belongings over dangerously slippery ice. This was both unsafe and completely avoidable.
Even after move‑in, basic access issues continued. It took over two weeks for them to provide a mailbox key. The back door key is still missing, and they did not provide keys for interior doors. Instead of correcting their own oversight, they expect us to pay for these keys ourselves, which is unreasonable given that they failed to supply them in the first place.
Overall, this experience has been incredibly stressful and has affected my health and peace of mind. I would not recommend Belong home to anyone based on their poor communication, broken promises, disregard for safety, and lack of basic professionalism.

Never again
My experience. They are untrustworthy. They don’t work in good faith. They overcharge for simple task but keep it below the threshold to not need your approval. They allow for tenants to complain about anything and they send a 3rd party out. The gave bad information to potential tenants that drove them away. They worked with the tenant to reduce monthly bill on information that was provided in the listing. They charged the tenant for animals but I received none of it. I received no money for any repairs. Unfortunately, I do not wish them success. I hope they go out of business. It was the worst decision as a landlord. I ended up owing them money nearly every month. On a monthly basis I went from covering the mortgage plus $100 to paying $300-$500 out of pocket each month. Then a week after cancellation of their service the tenant send me a email from their lawyer that they are filing for bankruptcy. So they drove away tenants and lead me to sign with someone that couldn’t finish a year and I made no money only lost money. And the tenant also left a bad review. I even worked things out and even continue to talk with the tenant because Belong was the biggest issue. They are the ones that don’t Belong. My last communication tried to verify charges and cost because they would charge multiple times for the things they didn’t fix. A year later the day before Christmas they debi my checking account almost $5000 with no communication throughout the year. I love forward to their downfall. They are money pits. Unless you have money to waste or money isn’t an issue.

Easy to use!
Good platform terrible communication and follow though
App is nice but communication and follow through is poor. A lot of commitment are made with the property owner having to drive commitment, calls, and follow up especially with the pre contract process. That being said communication between the Belong functions hasn’t been better with me having to coordinate repairs myself and complete in less time than them getting a quote. Random price changes when the settings are off making it harder to rent. Very few tour updates and App is left out of date.

Don’t use belong!
This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had. We thought we found a great house to rent. But we can’t even live in it because they refuse to put Freon in the ac saying the house was listed without an ac unit and fixing it would be an upgrade. The house is constantly 90 degrees inside so we can’t even live in it. We are stuck sleeping in our car because I can’t have my boys sleeping where they can’t even breathe because it’s so hot.

Payments Section on App
Unable to change or delete payments. But, able to add payments?? Having no control over your own payments accounts in the app is not ethical. If the company can control and have ACH access to all your payments and you cannot, this is not ethical business practice. The app and website state, “you can change or update your payments in the accounts section”. Where in the app? I don’t see it and I see that you cannot. WHY?! Fix this problem.

BELONG HOME LAWSUIT REVIEW
I ended up in lawsuit with my landlord because of Belong Home’s negligence. Construction workers tried to tear down part of our property with us inside more than once because one of our rooms was illegal and the city had been fighting the owners on it since before we moved in. Belong Home did NOTHING to help us and gave us the phone number of the general contractor & landlord to work it out ourselves… This was not even close to the only problem we had with Belong, just the most horrifying.

Stay far away
The absolute worst renting experience I have ever had, and it isn’t close. Incompetent, unresponsive, and generally useless. The didn’t do any cleaning or maintenance before we moved in, and then tried to charge US for the (very minimal) cleaning we insisted they do after we moved in. They took 3 months to address a leaking roof causing mold in the property (they took so long, it actually put them in violation of California law). Any time you call them, you will get a call center - it doesn’t seem like they have any actual employees in the United States. Currently, we’re stuck without a washer or dryer, because (after 6 months) we finally convinced them that the unit in the home was broken - so they took it away and left a new one, which lacks the correct hookups for the home. Oh, and there’s a third washer currently sitting in the front yard which also didn’t fit; they haven’t gotten around to picking it up, so it’s just sitting out front exposed to the elements.
In terms of the app itself - it doesn’t work either. I couldn’t even log in for the first 8 months, and never got any response from anyone when I asked support about it. Scheduling a service appointment is incredibly buggy, several UI controls simply don’t work, or will throw an error, forcing you to restart the entire process.
tl;dr, do not, under any circumstances, rent from Belong. You will regret it.

Force Closing When Paying
App forced me to update after opening. Now that I’ve updated, it force closes if I try to initiate payment for next month. Very annoying because I like to pay before the first of the month, since it takes 5-10 days to even process.
Sign in With Apple Has Never Worked
I made an account with Sign in With Apple on their website. Their app has never worked when trying to sign in though, I reported it as a bug with zero traction.
Not related to app functionality but Belong is generally a very poorly run company. I applied for an apartment in Washington state through them where we have a first qualified applicant rule. The site said I was “first in line” only for me to get completely ghosted, never offered a tour despite continually submitting time, and then when I called support for help they said they had offered it to somewhere else. So essentially what happened is that I had $50 stollen from me via the application fee while Belong broke our local rental laws.

App Closes Unexpectedly
I am using the Belong app version 3.10.0 (62) on an iPhone running OS 17.5.1. It is unexpectedly closing.
Belong home and their app is worst company to work with
It is an absolute nightmare to work with belong home from start to finish. First and foremost, their online portal for accessing resources is a disaster. Trying to find the information I needed felt like navigating through a labyrinth blindfolded. Contact their team was like shouting into the void. Emails went unanswered for days, if not weeks, and forget about trying to get someone on the phone. It's like they're actively avoiding their customers. But perhaps the most infuriating part of the whole experience was their blatant dishonesty when it came to maintenance requests. I paid for a service, expecting it to be carried out in a timely manner, only to be met with excuse after excuse. It's clear that they have no regard for their customers' time or money.

WORST EXPERIENCE! You will be at your own.
Disclaimer: This review is about BELONG, not the app. My experience with Belong has honestly been a letdown. They skipped mentioning some important safety stuff about the area, like a transition house for inmates nearby – news to me! In the first month, our car disappeared, and over the next five months, my windows took a beating five times, plus my license plate went missing twice. Basic stuff? Yeah, that's where Belong struggled, taking three months to hand over my mailbox key and five months to sort out bill payments. Talking to them was like pulling teeth – emails went unanswered for ages. And get this: our neighbor, who shared the backyard, turned out to be a registered child molester! Belong conveniently forgot to mention that, and even the landlord didn't know when we finally met on our way out. Belong's lack of transparency and lousy communication seriously messed with our peace of mind during our stay.

Charged for random items
I’m not really sure what’s going on, if it’s a system glitch or something. I rent out my home and I’ve been getting randomly charged for items. When I contact support their say it’s a mistake and they will reverse the charge. Fast forward a week, I don’t get a refund and instead I’m charged for something else completely unrelated. It says “fencing” but I rent out a condo and there isn’t even a fence on the property. I really hope this gets resolved.
