Seattle Renter
We rented a Belong-managed apartment in Seattle for 10 months and negotiated an early exit because management was a nightmare. While the apartment was beautiful, Belong made living there miserable.
* Broken Maintenance Workflow: You submit requests in their app, but coordination immediately shifts into long, confusing email chains that black-hole your concerns and block direct access to the landlord.
* Severe Repair Delays: Mold remediation left our kitchen unusable for months with zero updates. Worse, our sink and dishwasher sat abandoned on our 3rd-story deck for almost the entire summer.
* Dismissive Safety Stance: When water pooled and froze on our deck—creating a slip hazard near a low railing (also confirmed with Seattle laws it was not compliant height)—Belong literally dismissed it with, "It's Seattle."
The moment we bypassed the app and emailed our landlord directly the mold issues were resolved quicker. However, many other landlord laws were broken and belong would not hold the landlord accountable to the city standards. Belong markets itself as a tech solution, but renters pay the price with awful communication, zero urgency, and total incompetence. Avoid them.

They should hire people instead of using cheap AI chat bots to communicate with owners and residents
Disappointing experience with Belong. I hired them expecting professional, hands-off property management, but the process has required constant follow-up.
I reached out in late May, and my home was not rented until late August. The listing went up late and even included photos from a completely different property. After move-in, the resident complained that the cleaning company Belong hired did a poor job.
Communication has been the biggest issue. Customer service and concierge response times are consistently slow, making it difficult to get timely answers about my own property.
Most concerning, Belong advertises a “Rent Guarantee,” my resident has moved in, and I still have not received a rent payment that was supposed to have been collected by belong mid last month.
The concept is great, but based on my experience, the execution, communication, and attention to detail have fallen well short of expectations.

DO NOT RENT THROUGH BELONG — READ THIS BEFORE YOU DO
I would not recommend renting through Belong based on our experience. The biggest issue has been the landlord, but Belong’s lack of communication and follow-through has made an already frustrating situation even worse.
We have dealt with multiple property issues that we were told would be addressed, yet we’ve repeatedly had to follow up and document everything just to get basic concerns acknowledged.
The AC was one of the worst examples. We dealt with an AC that was not properly cooling our home for MONTHS. The landlord acknowledged that the ongoing issue caused our electric bill to be significantly higher and initially agreed to reimburse us for the additional cost.
Then she changed her mind.
This came after repeatedly attempting to send her husband to our home to address the AC issue, despite him not being qualified to properly diagnose or repair it. After months of dealing with the problem and the resulting high electric bills, she ultimately backed away from the reimbursement she had originally agreed to.
And the problems are still happening.
Our pool has now been BLACK for an entire week. Which is not the first time ! We were told issues would be addressed, yet we are still waiting for that to happen. We are paying to live in a property with a pool that we cannot use because it is not being properly maintained.
We were also required to complete an inspection, which we did, and we passed. Given the circumstances, the inspection felt less like an effort to resolve our concerns and more like an effort for the landlord to protect herself from the issues we had been reporting.
Most importantly, George—who was assigned to our situation—stopped responding after we passed the inspection. That says a lot about the level of communication and follow-through we have experienced.
Things breaking in a rental property is normal. Leaving tenants to repeatedly chase answers, dealing with unresolved issues for months, backing away from promised reimbursement, and then going silent is not.
We have cooperated with maintenance, completed the inspection, reported our concerns, and documented everything. We should not have to fight this hard to have legitimate issues with the home addressed.
If you are considering renting through Belong, document EVERYTHING. Save your emails, texts, maintenance requests, photos, videos, receipts, and any promises made to you.
And avoid using the landlord we had if possible she has been horrible and i’ve been stationed all over and have lived in many places and by far she is the worst landlord I have ever had. Cheap would be an understatement, oh and from all of the ac visits all we have is a messy garage because we have yet for someone to come clean it up which we put a request in for 2 months ago. Again shows you everything we’ve been experiencing while we’re paying rent on time every month still.
Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere before trusting Belong with your home and your money.

Belong home experience
Wow what a great experience from start to finish so sophisticated I’m retired I was builder, developer ,realtor for 25plus years this the best ever
Don’t rent with them
I am writing to share my extremely disappointing experience with Belong home in connection with our recent rental.
Before signing, we identified serious safety and maintenance issues in the home, including loose power outlets and problems with the fireplace. We were explicitly promised that these would be fixed before our move‑in date. Despite calling repeatedly in the weeks before move‑in to remind them, nothing was done.
On our original move‑in day, with trucks rented and everything packed, we discovered that the repairs were still not completed and the home was not ready. Our start date had to be pushed back a week at the last minute, causing additional expense and stress for my family.
When we tried to move in on the rescheduled date, things got even worse. The entrance keys were missing, and we were locked out of the house for about three hours in sub‑zero temperatures. During all of this, the company was extremely difficult to reach. Calls were rarely returned, and we were passed from person to person; in total I have dealt with about six different agents, none of whom took ownership of the situation.
When we were finally able to enter, we found that the entire driveway and entrance were covered in thick ice. We could not safely park the U‑Haul or walk without risking a fall, yet we had no choice but to carry our belongings over dangerously slippery ice. This was both unsafe and completely avoidable.
Even after move‑in, basic access issues continued. It took over two weeks for them to provide a mailbox key. The back door key is still missing, and they did not provide keys for interior doors. Instead of correcting their own oversight, they expect us to pay for these keys ourselves, which is unreasonable given that they failed to supply them in the first place.
Overall, this experience has been incredibly stressful and has affected my health and peace of mind. I would not recommend Belong home to anyone based on their poor communication, broken promises, disregard for safety, and lack of basic professionalism.
