Worked fine initially

Initial setting up was a bit clunky but eventually worked with app and Alexa. After about 6 months the dimmer went offline and I can no longer get it to connect.

Smooth landing

So far so good! Devices operate smoothly with control and they don’t drop off with Wi-Fi connection. Wasn’t expecting such a smooth ride. Only missing item was hold your dimmer for 8-10 seconds untill they flashed. Once I knew 8-10 seconds thing, life for straight forward there on.

Unresponsive and no iOS integration

I installed this app to manage some BG dimmers. It sometimes works to adjust the brightness but often will just ignore the change. Tried multiple times to integrate with Siri but it just comes up with errors. This app has not been properly tested before release, very poor.

Rubbish app

Won’t let you migrate your sockets when one is the master socket onto this new app from the old app. I think the developers need to design a better app so far not working very well!????

Glitchy!!

Never opens without having to swipe up and close app on iOS!! Can’t get it working with Alexa!! Have several devices on Bg home for years and no problem s . This smart app is a disaster!! Rufus 33

No iOS functionality at all

Tried this app as it seems to be actually updated rather than the BG Home app which isn’t. It certainly is cleaner and easier to use, however is completely missing iOS functionality - no option to link to Siri. The app does show in Shortcuts, however when trying to use BG Smart Activate Scene there are no options listed. Therefore cannot do anything. I was going to purchase BG smart plugs but I might need to reconsider.

Here is the clarity you need on how the two apps work with third-party automation: BG Smart App: This is the dedicated app for the new BG Smart Wi-Fi dimmers and upcoming specific versions of Smart Sockets and Adaptors. You must set up third-party automations (like Siri, Alexa, or Google Home) for these devices inside the BG Smart app. BG Home App: For all devices originally sold under the BG Home range, you must set up third-party automations inside the BG Home app. If you have a mixture of devices, you will need to use both apps to set up the respective automations. However, for day-to-day control, you can link your BG Home account within the BG Smart app. This lets you control all your devices from one app. We hope this helps you reconsider your purchase.
