User reviews

Fine app but only for Apple users (like me)

Our congregation has been using the First Hebrew Primer, and we find it top notch. Unfortunately those without Apple devices are left out in the cold with regard to the flash card app, and must carry about those wonderful albeit space-taking flash cards. We would be ecstatically happy if you could make this app available to non-Apple users.

Fabulous

This app is fabulous to use alongside the workbook and videos. The pronunciation helps so much. It would be nice to see the verbs played out further so that one can identify the correct verb when reading text for the workbook. I would also like chapter identification or at least word number markers to line up for quick look up. I give it 5 stars regardless !!

No dark mode

You can’t read the text of any settings in dark mode, but in light mode, it seems usable enough. I wish there were a shuffle mode (is there?)! And it would be awesome if it tested on plurals and word pair forms, maybe also possessive endings, etc.

Took a chance.

Read the reviews from a year ago, but also read from the publisher that they had completely reworked the app. So I thought I would take a chance and try the app. Thus far, the app seems to have addressed the concerns people had raised.
They do offer a faster speed for flipping the cards.
They do offer the ability to select specific chapters beginning with chapter 4.
It does look like even within a chapter you can select specific cards for review.
Now I have only used the app about 5 minutes, so I may have to come back and update my review. But so far I am happy that I have an audio Flashcard system to go with the book I have. Since I am teaching myself, the audio is a must have.

DO NOT BUY

This app's only asset is its pronunciation feature. Everything else is terrible. You can't search for a word, you can't organize words alphabetically by English definition, you can't save any study sets (what is the point of making them?) so you can put 40 mins into creating a study set only for it to disappear when you close the app, you can't create any kind of automatic quiz feature, you can't deselect all (so you have to manually uncheck every single word you don't want included in a set). Unbelievable waste of money.
