Fine app but only for Apple users (like me)

Our congregation has been using the First Hebrew Primer, and we find it top notch. Unfortunately those without Apple devices are left out in the cold with regard to the flash card app, and must carry about those wonderful albeit space-taking flash cards. We would be ecstatically happy if you could make this app available to non-Apple users.

Fabulous

This app is fabulous to use alongside the workbook and videos. The pronunciation helps so much. It would be nice to see the verbs played out further so that one can identify the correct verb when reading text for the workbook. I would also like chapter identification or at least word number markers to line up for quick look up. I give it 5 stars regardless !!

No dark mode

You can’t read the text of any settings in dark mode, but in light mode, it seems usable enough. I wish there were a shuffle mode (is there?)! And it would be awesome if it tested on plurals and word pair forms, maybe also possessive endings, etc.

Took a chance.

Read the reviews from a year ago, but also read from the publisher that they had completely reworked the app. So I thought I would take a chance and try the app. Thus far, the app seems to have addressed the concerns people had raised.
They do offer a faster speed for flipping the cards.
They do offer the ability to select specific chapters beginning with chapter 4.
It does look like even within a chapter you can select specific cards for review.
Now I have only used the app about 5 minutes, so I may have to come back and update my review. But so far I am happy that I have an audio Flashcard system to go with the book I have. Since I am teaching myself, the audio is a must have.

DO NOT BUY

This app's only asset is its pronunciation feature. Everything else is terrible. You can't search for a word, you can't organize words alphabetically by English definition, you can't save any study sets (what is the point of making them?) so you can put 40 mins into creating a study set only for it to disappear when you close the app, you can't create any kind of automatic quiz feature, you can't deselect all (so you have to manually uncheck every single word you don't want included in a set). Unbelievable waste of money.

NO AUDIO!!!

So disappointed, was really looking forward o using these, but without sound it is not useful to me. My husband has a version that works, but obviously, there is a bug somewhere in this version. I hope that an update is coming soon!

No audio: do NOT buy!

This app does not deliver on its promise of audio pronunciation of vocabulary words! Please update the app so it works!

No audio!!!!!!

Audio won't work on iPhone 6s+ even after device reset. Please fix...... Would be a great app if it had pronunciation in audio or visual pronunciation of Hebrew word. Until then I just wasted $10

Great Update

Thanks for the update. It fixed the problems with selecting and deselecting chapters and the review chapter now works as it use to before iOS 9. This app is so easy to use and looks great on both the iPhone and the iPad. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to learn the wonderful language of Biblical Hebrew. I would suggest maybe adding the ability of users imputing there own additional vocabulary words. I can so this in some other apps, but it doesn't look as good as your app, or work as well. Thanks!

Good if it worked

I'm experiencing the same problems as others. It won't let me select the chapters I want to review. This is problematic and annoying since I'm studying along with the chapters in the book. This app was $9.99. That's very expensive. Please make it work properly.

Terrible

I give it 1 star because 0 isn't an option. The app is buggy, and they don't support it. Have asked for help from the company but no response. I never could get the app to accept a time setting of less than 10 seconds per card, which is frustratingly slow.

I made the mistake of resetting; now all the chapters are "on," and I can't turn them off.

Save yourself $10 and make your own flashcards. This is a complete ripoff.

Good but needs update

The flashcards as a whole would work great and it matches the printed version. However the app is outdated.

This app hasn't been updated for a few years. I'm running them on an iPhone 6 with iOS 9 (last update was back in the ios5 days!) and encounter the following glitches:
1. I am unable to select individual chapters and cards to view- when I try to under settings the app crashes. it's all or nothing which is unfortunate since I'd like to work on one chapter at a time.
2. I can't change the auto play to anything other than 10second intervals.

Even with these problems I'd still recommend the app for the convenience of having the Flashcards with you wherever you go. If you're studying with the first Hebrew primer then this is still what you want. I just hope someone is still monitoring this app and will release that update soon!

Helpful

I've been using this for three weeks. I have found it to be better than paper flashcards, Because it also has audio you can listen to the correct pronunciation of each word.
Though $9.99 in a little pricey, I need the help.

Great app

Works great on my iPhone and iPad. This and the other similar app by the same company, which covers prayerbook Hebrew, are the most helpful and well constructed of all the Hebrew apps I've tried.

Landscape view not working?

Looks hopeful but for some reason can't view it in its proper orientation, which is very annoying. But great that it links to the Primer Hebrew textbook!

Would be great if you'd fix the App!

I'd give this 5 stars if it worked wont rotate the view so I can't see the whole flash card. Please fix this, it's not a free app so I expect the app to work right.

Really Good Concept With Tech Failure

The display is pushed to the right, characters overlap and some areas are unreadable. The program is stuck in vertical view and will not rotate, and it is only in iPhone format. If these errors were fixed I would LOVE this app!

ipad bug

I like this program, especially the audio content, but now for some reason the view won't go into landscape on my 1 gen ipad and the cards are cut off. I noticed I can still drag the card over and see the whole thing but this is weird.

Good but could be improved

This is a helpful accompaniment to the EKS textbook (which is excellent). It allows you to learn vocab whenever and wherever you are. However there are a few drawbacks:
1. An expensive app
2. A bit buggy, requiring you to reload the app when it does weird stuff
3. Only contains basic vocabulary; no verb charts or other tables. This is where I think the app could be greatly improved, if it not only included words in their basic form, but also some charts to learn verb patterns, possessive endings, etc.

Excellent tool

My kids are using this program very effectively to learn the vocabulary. They love doing it on my ipod touch.

Downside: NOT ENOUGH WORDS. For this money, there should be every word that appears 10 or more times, not those that appear 50 or more. I am going to buy another app to do this.
