Take-Home Estimates, Now Much More Accurate This update overhauls how the app estimates your take-home pay so it can match your actual paystub far more closely. New payroll settings: - Social Security toggle — If your employer doesn't withhold Social Security (OASDI), you can now turn it off so the estimate isn't inflated. - Colorado withholding allowance — Enter your DR 0004 annual allowance to match exactly how your payroll calculates Colorado state tax. - Colorado rounding — Some payroll systems round state withholding to whole dollars per paycheck. Now you can match that behavior. - Per-paycheck adjustments — Already had extra withholding controls, but the section is now clearer with labeled icons, descriptions for each field, and a tip on how to read the difference from a real paystub. Smarter tax math: - Annualized income for closed pay periods now uses your actual paycheck gross × pay periods per year — simpler and more predictable than the old projection model. Federal and Colorado taxable income are now calculated separately, so Colorado-specific allowances apply correctly. Redesigned settings layout: - The Take-Home Estimate section has been reorganized into focused groups (Filing, Income Projection, Payroll Rules, Pre-Tax Deductions, Paystub Calibration) with a live summary card at the top showing your current configuration at a glance.
