App not working properly on iPad though ok on iPhone
Normally I'd give this five stars but the iPad app crashes as soon as one swipes to look at purchases. The iPhone app works fine. Hope it can be fixed soon.

App not functional
App has removed downloads and is now not letting you re download to your device. Please fix this!!
Unusable
Unable to download purchases. Logged out and back in and it’s wiped everything that was downloaded and I can’t get them back now either.
Installed it on a different phone. Looked like it was going to work but it crashes every time I scroll down my purchases, so unusable.

Another rubbish update
I don’t know who they use to update websites and apps but it’s always painful and half you know what.
Latest iPhone app crashes when you try to look at Vortex copies and puts you in a loop only solved by deleting and reinstalling.
I suggest buying on Audible, more reliable and actually usually cheaper.
Update, ipad app now just crashes randomly, utter nonsense.

Latest version doesn't upload people's purchases
New version glitch?
Seems to be a glitch with this new version, where the thumbnails for episodes are not appearing. Also, the app lacks an easy way to queue episodes up (or at least not an easily findable one)
Issues
Edit to my review - Should have been 1 star & not 5 stars! The new app version is a bit of mess. It is now showing all preorders from this year & next so they need removing to make it cleaner & easier to navigate. The typeface in the search bar is white so you can’t see what you are typing. Recent releases are downloading as individual tracks rather than one continuous track per story. An example is a War Doctor release with 3 stories now downloads as 23 tracks. Hopefully the developer can fix these issues quickly.

Awful
Absolutely awful since the update. Can’t search when you’re playing an audio. Everything has been separated into tracks which have a 1 second pause when it switches to the next track. Really disappointing with this update.

This new app is rubbish it doesn’t run smoothly with mp3 format it was better on the old app.Everytime big finish do an upgrade it goes wrong for them.

Reported bug fixed.
Updated app has fixed the sync bug. However several audiobooks now show chapters rather than each full story & some extras are missing - a story had a feature which combined the episodes into a re-edited complete version but this is now missing.
Update useless
Yet again the update is a disaster. We were warned that we’d lose what was already downloaded into the app. That’s fair enough. But now it won’t even show purchased content never mind actually download it
There’s a glitch- please fix (again)
I love Big Finish. You guys are brilliant. However, there’s a weird problem with the Big Finish app. Occasionally, when you add a boxset to a playlist or a cue, a given story in the boxset either doesn’t show up or is replaced with something else.
A: if you add The Paternoster Gang: Heritage 2 to a playlist or cue, the first story in the boxset, Dining with Death, just doesn’t show up. It used to be replaced with a free sample of The Silurian Candidate: Part 1, but once I removed that from my library, Dining with Death just wouldn’t show up at all.
B: UNIT: Incursions, when added to a cue or playlist, replaces the first story, The Dalek Protocol, with The Ninth Doctor: Ravagers: Sphere of Freedom. Yes, I own this, so this bug isn’t giving me free Big Finish.
C: Classic Doctors New Monsters: The Stuff of Nightmares: The House that Hoxx Built becomes Ravagers: Food Fight, from the same boxset as Sphere of Freedom.
To clarify, I can still listen to these stories by playing them from the boxset menu, just not in a playlist or cue.
Updateeeee: This was from before the new website. So I just got Dark Gallifrey: The War Master (brilliant btw; loved the Unbound Doctor appearances), and I added it to my Dark Gallifrey playlist. Morbius 1 2 and 3 and War Master 1 and 3 can be added to a playlist. War Master Part 2, when I try to add it, is replace by Last of the Titans. Yes, that one Seventh Doctor freebie.
There are more examples. In The Eighth Doctor and Lucie Miller Series 2, the first story, Dead London, just will not go in playlists. And when I add it to a cue it just crashes the app. I can play it by going to the boxset and clicking on it, but I keep having this problem and I’m really hoping you can fix it. Just imagine, as Mr. Briggs loves to say.
Secondary update: On other devices, these problems do not occur. Only on that particular device do these particular problems occur. Other devices have Different Problems. I have no problems with my War Master playlist on my iPad (the device with the above problems), but on my iPhone, I can’t add the third story in Escape from Reality to a playlist. It becomes *drumroll please* The Chimes of Midnight. So these problems are different for each device. Playlists in general are a bit wonky.
The three-star rating is not at all indicative of my opinion of Big Finish. Big Finish is brilliant. To me, it’s the only DW expanded media that’s automatically canon, because of how brilliant it is. The app just needs work.
(Please don’t cancel the First Doctor Adventures, he’s one of my nineteen favourite Doctors 🥺)

A company worth supporting
Big Finish is incredible. The storytelling is unmatched, and the consideration and care they put into every part of the production process shines through in every release. There’s very few companies I truly support these days, but Big Finish’s transparency, dedication to its listeners, and quality of product have earned my respect and admiration a hundred times over. When they say “for the love of stories,” they truly mean it!
