Worst recent update

I’ve been using birdie for over 10 months now and it’s been okay but the recent update is so annoying, unnecessary and frustrating. I’ll be trying to login to my visit but the app would just be stagnant. It’s been like that since I updated it. It takes like 5 minutes before the app comes up again after closing and opening the app like 3/4 times. So annoying

They updated it so you have to slide up the tasks sliding up the tasks doesn’t work half the time awful

Good idea essentially but would be great if it could be a two way communication tool. Rather than just reporting

Useful for families to check but missing feedback capability

My mum’s carers use this app and for the most part the ability as a family member to see the carers reports after each visit is excellent.

It is missing the ability for carers to ask family members questions or vice versa. It would be really useful to be able to communicate with the carers using the app regarding their findings rather than resort to phoning the office. Examples could be changes to meds or treatment, temporary changes to schedule etc.

2FA Doesn’t Work for USA

I’m a client of a care giving company that uses Birdie to provide a report of my father’s care. I’m also based in the US where the company is based in the UK. Their 2FA service does not work with US phone numbers despite appearing to send a text when you log in. Emailing support when they are there can work but it’s a pain when the session expires and you have to log in again. Desperately needs to be Authenticator based not a broken 2FA text back system.

No longer shows upcoming visits

After updating the app in no longer shows the upcoming visits? This was extremely useful as I could contact the carer who was scheduled to visit my mother, and tell them not to come if she was at the hospital.

Could be much better

As a client I can only see the start time of my visit , not the end time. My visit length varies so it’s really important to know it’s booked correctly. Also it would be useful to see more visits than just 3 ahead.

Useful for clients but could be better

The App is handy but lacks info for the client. I am a carer for my husband who has dementia so I am booking care that allows me to go off and spend time elsewhere. The end time of the visits would be a simple and useful addition as the times and length of visits varies. The care company I use schedules 2-3 weeks in advance but I can only see 3 visits (1 week).

Doesn’t work after latest iPhone update

After the most recent iOS update a few days ago, the icon of the app is still there but nothing happens, all content has vanished- just a flat icon is all that’s left. There’s no option to update or refresh the app. Please do something about it!

No app support whatsoever!

Great app but impossible to access when you have difficulty accessing. Customer care is zero 😩

Limited

Birdie does not support loved ones with foreign phone numbers. So it is useless for our family. Which is a shame really because the carers put a lot of effort into their documentation.

Very poor, frequent outages

Keep getting ‘access restricted’ messages and can’t check on visits. Re-logging in doesn’t help. Pretty useless.

Great peace of mind

The care company invited me to use this app so I could see what was happening with a relatives care. Firstly, it’s great for the care company to demonstrate that visits are taking place. I can also see the quality of the updates and the interaction that takes place. This allows me to put calls into the GP or other services so we can maximise my relatives stay in her own home, something she really desires.

Stating start and finish times give me comfort that she is safely indoors and the ability to share a photo has been invaluable twice now.

Great app for relatives to keep informed on the wellbeing of their loved ones.

Good app but draining

A good app, better than most I’ve used in the care sector.
Since latest update though, colleagues and I have found it seems to be very draining on the device battery, more than twice as much which isn’t ideal if you’re out working all day!
More functionality isn’t always functional!
