Very Helpful
I really enjoy the App. It has helped me find birds I wouldn’t have without it. It was especially helpful in planning trips - until the “Browse By Location” stopped being updated about a month ago. I really used that function a lot. I hope it is fixed soon.
Glad to see it back on line!! I use it a lot.

Pretty Women
I like the app. I use iBird to help identify birds, and BirdsEye to help find birds wherever I am. The problems I’m having with BirdsEye is that the sightings don’t load, or they take forever to load. And then when downloading the paid bird packages, it makes me download at least twice. If the developers could keep the app up to date and running better, that would help. It’s actually a very functional and greatly useful app. I do love it, but it doesn’t seem to love me. Such is life with pretty girls and fancy apps.

Doesn’t work anymore
I’ve loved using this app for over a decade now. And found it more useful than the eBird and Audubon apps. But lately, I can’t sync my eBird list, and the rare bird alerts don’t load. Not sure what has changed or if this app still has support and development.
Stopped working properly
I’ve had this app for a long time and noticed it wasn’t loading some of my regional lists. I tried to delete and re-load thinking the issue was on my end and now I can’t get it to work at all. I paid for another year subscription back in Feb and based on other reviews it sounds like I might just be out on that cost.

No Updates for Weeks
I’m so disappointed. I’ve loved this app for years. Since May 8th, there have been no updates. This is prime birding time. It’s been almost a month. I’ve emailed support several times with no response.
Used to be fantastic
Birdeye used to be amazing, but now it’s stopped working and no one from there will respond. No info at all!
App no longer updated
The app used to be amazing, but is no longer updated. For instance, my last checklist I submitted to eBird had 32 species on it and this app only picked up 26 of them. My life list is also incorrect. You cannot rely on recent info/#’s. Doubt “All” is still correct.
Could be great but instead just ok.
The premise is great especially for traveling to other places to find target species. I used this for Costa Rica and it was helpful to see what lifers had been reported in various hotspots that I was visiting. It worked pretty well for that. Unfortunately, the developers are no longer updating this app. Recent species renames and splits have not been updated. It was a bit clunky and required internet access to work. I had a free trial for a month and used it a bit when I was in CR but ultimately I did not think it was worth $5 a month so I cancelled after the free trial. The price is way too high for an app that isn’t being regularly upgraded/fixed. Shame.

Overall Love, Sometimes Frustration
Overall I love the app, but there are some glitches, and a little room for improvement.
Glitch: about 10% of the time, I open a species search and everything is grayed out, forcing me to select the membership I already have, then back out and start over for it to work.
Improvement: too many of the species have a lot of redundant pictures. It needs to diversify top, bottom, and variation within species. It does this for most, but there are too many it does not. I don’t need to look at 12 pictures where 8 are virtually identical.
Overall, I love this app enough to want it to improve.

Update
Love the app! It is a great tool to have for every aspect of my birding. Only improvement needed is to update the species name changes.
Useful but filter bugs
I have enjoyed using Birdseye for years but I find it does not filter locations very well. Sightings are often 100 kms or more from the set filter circle.
Great App
Very easy to use. I have upgraded to different parts of the world and the app comes in very handy for abundance reports and current sightings.
Horrible user experience
Very painful user experience.
When I try to view a bird it’s says you need a subscription. You can’t use the app without paying apparently. I purchased a subscription and then I need to download 15,000+ files.
So I start downloading but if the phone goes to sleep the download stops and I get a download error. So I plug the phone in and keep it awake by tapping the screen and watch 1000’s of files slowly download.
After 30 minutes the download finishes. Then I try to view a bird’s info and it tells me to download again.
So I try to download again and it tells me I’ve already downloaded.
No documentation other than a pitch to pay for a subscription. No troubleshooting guide. The contact support link is broken so there is no way to get assistance and no way to figure what I did wrong.
So I delete the the download and try again. Same problem. I’ve been trying to get this to work for hours now. It’s just $3 so it’s not really worth the trouble to try to get a refund.
I would rather have not spent so much time trying to get this to work.
There are other apps that do work and don’t charge monthly fees. Try Audubon Birds or Merlin Bird ID. You will need to download bird packs for those but it only takes a few seconds to download.
I strongly recommend you don’t pay for this app when there are much better free alternatives.

Birdseye
This is a very good app to help you find the birds in your area. You can move the area to find birds in different areas. This is my go to app when I am leading trips
Drives me crazy
Generally like this app but it is so buggy I can’t use it half the time. Paid for world birds but rarely can I get it. It helps to close all other apps on the phone but doesn’t solve it. No support. Have sent multiple requests for help through app. No response. Makes me sad. General capabilities are good if you can get it to work.

Must-have for traveling birders
I use this app almost daily for finding birds near my home as well as the best hotspots while traveling. I highly recommend the paid version. You can search by species or location.
Brilliant App
This is great for seeing what species have been reported on eBird recently & over longer periods. It helps find new species & improve the chances of identifying others you are not 100% sure of especially if they have been reported nearby. It can however show birds that were recorded but found to be incorrect & changed on eBird. If this could be incorporated into the App it would be even better.
If you are after rare species I would recommend purchasing the subscription especially useful for the months when travelling overseas.

Disappointed
App use to be amazing but requires a monthly membership now. Spend your money on a bird app that is a one time fee and not a membership.
Excited for app, support is meh
I was really excited to get this app. I got a subscription on their site but it’s never transferred or whatever. I’ve emailed several times from the website and support in the app and haven’t heard back. If I could just get that sorted, I’d be one happy camper….will update review if we ever get this sorted. It’s been over two weeks at this point :-/

Does things the eBird app doesn’t and mostly works well
I’ve used this app since before the eBird app came out. I still find it essential for searching eBird observations that are county-specific and rare & notable observations throughout a large area. The eBird app only allows a 30-mile radius so it’s frustrating when you are planning a road trip and you’re not within 30 miles of your destination. Also, BirdsEye shows checklist comments which is essential for access and specific location of target birds. The app has been quite slow to load in the last few months but still works if you are patient. In short, this is a very useful app that i hope will continue b being updated and improved and i plan to keep using.
