Great and it’s free!

I think this is a great app if you are just getting started with tracking your diet. It’s easy to track your macros, and though it can be a bit annoying having to manually put in info, there is a barcode tool to scan grocery-bought items.

Even if you aren’t big on tracking macros or calorie counting, only taking photos of your meals can still help a ton! So far it’s helped me get a bigger picture of what/how much I’m eating. Calorie counting can be scary for some, so just being able to take photos may help you realize that hey, maybe I need more meat in my diet, or that I could cut back on my sugar.

My biggest flaw is that I don’t get enough protein, and using this app is helping me get that number up. And yes, it’s free! No subscription required, which I rarely see with nutrition-related apps.

100% recommend, best app in its niche

I have adhd and autism, because of this i struggle with knowing when i’m hungry as well as knowing when i’m full, and this app is exactly what i’ve been looking for, for literal years. No paywalls, no subscription, just great features that enable me give my body the proper amount of food it needs in turn helping my metabolism and hormones become more regulated, and it’s so simple that i quickly made it into a habit instead of logging one meal and forgetting i ever downloaded it like i have with other meal tracking apps, really appreciate the work that was put into this, especially all for free. helped me out a great deal, and i know i’m not the only one ♥️

Really good

I’ve used so many meal tracking apps, and calorie counting, and my fitness pal, and etc. I love this one. The pictures look really good, lol, and I like photography so that is actually a big plus. I like how it asks you what you are eating and doesn’t assume- while at the same time, not making you start from scratch and figure out each ingredient and how much of each ingredient. It really opened my eyes as to how much I’m actually eating. I’m a visual person and the pics really help me learn what a portion size is (and is not). I’m finding it extremely useful.

No update in 2 years

I have been using the app for over a week and I really like it, however it is buggy and missing some basic features, like adjusting calories based on exercise. It also won’t let me even open the “me” part so I can’t adjust my weight or whatever else is located in that part of the app. It has also not been optimized for newer phones, so it is hard to see the search bar that is now under the camera.

There is a prominent button that asks you to give them ideas for new features so I thought that maybe these things will get updated or fixed in a future version. But when I looked at the App Store it shows that it has not been updated in 2 years. So I am not getting my hopes up.

I love the basics of this app and would pay to use it if the developers would update it. However, I may need to look elsewhere.

FREE, Easy, and Useful, a little room for improvement

Enjoy the app and that it’s free! There are so many apps out there that want to charge outrageous subscription fees. Like how easy it is. Definitely not the greatest app if you are looking to get down to the exact calories but close enough is good for me (if you want to invest a lot of time adding your items you could make it as accurate as you want but the items already in there are close enough for me). Now for my few issues… (1) You can put your liquid drink for the day but there isn’t any overall tally for the day (wish they would add this). (2) Sometimes I’ll scan an item and the info will be wrong or out of date and I’m not sure how to edit it.

Love this app! It would be my go-to food journal if there were a day recap!

My dietician requested that I keep a food journal. I’ve used the big name apps in the past, but they are too detailed for my needs. I attempted old fashioned pen and paper or a note on my phone, but was not consistent in logging my meals. Lightbulb moment, what if I could take photos of my food?

Bitesnap easy to use and although the food database isn’t extensive for scanning items, adding the nutritional info isn’t too cumbersome. I especially appreciate that it’s generally listed in order of the label, so I don’t have to jump around to enter the info. And once most of my go-to foods are there, it’s a simple search to add them to the photo entry.

Ideally, my perfect app would include a a way to recap the days photos and see them on one screen (e.g., Ate and See How You Eat apps). I’d use this app alone over the other two with a recap feature. Thanks!

Not Like Others

I usually browse for apps that have no in app purchases, so it’s completely free!!! Also, it’s not like other wight tracking apps that having icons that show someone who is perfectly skinny and someone who is extremely overweight. This helps you moderate what you eat. As someone who is overweight, I say that this is one of the best that I have seen so far. A true must have!!!

Best free macro nutrition tracker atm

You will soon see all free apps of sort (no matter id they say its free, or even 3.99 app), it will always have a monthy (fully unlocked) subscription. This doesn’t, but it does have a small learning curve. These minor annoyances aren’t deal breakers, once you realize the competitiveness of this category, in the app market. The only real annoyance depends on how lazy you are. It’s mostly existing database of foods. But you can create your personal list of food items to use. As a some who trains constantly, we mostly focus on clean foods, and their macros. This means we don’t deviate far from having too many varieties of food. Only good priced, consistent and convenient foods. Not a different meal every day. So the annoyance of database isnt as bad as you think. The percentage works perfectly, if you dont get it, you should at least spend 5 minutes thinking about your high math class. Instead give it a chance and do your training- thats why you have this. In the reviews there arent much negative comments and you can actually see the improvements via feedback from users. Remember this is a tool. Not your savoir. Do the work, focus on the training and track with this. If you start looking for a perfect free app (doesn’t exist without a monthly subscription), you will just be procrastinating with your training.

Great little app

I like looking at my previous meals. Pictures give you a way better idea of what you ate than text logs. You can recall the moment and probably remember the conditions in which you ate the food. Very insightful and helpful. Plus it does a pretty good job of guessing what food you ate. I like that you can snap a photo and log it later. That’s pretty cool so you’re not having to log it at the time of your meal. Maybe you don’t want to explain to people what you’re doing. Snap a quick picture and put your phone away. I’d like to see a way to add exercise to your day and also a notes section for those of us who like to journal. Other than that, it’s a fantastic app. It’ll definitely help you.

Quickly became part of my routine

While it took me a few minutes to figure out how to work the more advanced features (copying a meal to reuse it, changing the day and time of a meal if I forgot to enter it etc) once I got it, I deleted the other apps I downloaded to try. Love the flexibility and customiz-ability. It became part of my routine immediately.

The. Best. Food. Tracker. App! Period!

I don't typically write review for apps...like ever. But, this app really has began to change my life + make me more aware of my eating habits. I have struggled with binge eating for 3+ years now. The anxiety of having to use MyFitnessPal or LoseIt! was starting to get to me. I needed something more practical, something I could use to track but also have FUN with. Then, I found this app. So easy. You take a photo of your meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack) and it "automatically" recognizes your food! Granted, the technology in estimating calories off of a photo is fairly new so its not 100% accurate but its dang near close! If I took a picture of a pizza, of course its not going to know if my pizza is Dominos or Papa Johns, but they make it super easy to "add" food items into your database to recognize and use later. This app has allowed me to "visually" see how much I'm consuming daily and I've fallen in love with it. Thank you developers and creators. ❤️

Easy food tracker

I wanted to give this app a 4.5 but that’s not an option. I love the ease of snapping a picture of my food and it suggesting what it might be. Livongo used to allow me to take a picture of my food and later go back and write about it. Recently, they changed their app and you now have to search for the food. Because my foods are homemade and a lot are middle eastern, then it makes it hard to document due to not being able to take a picture until the written food is found. This app makes it way easier because you just take a picture and choose from a list of foods that the app thinks the photo is. If your food isn’t there, you can write it in. My only problem with the app is when I forget to take a picture until the food is gone. I wish there was a way to write the food down for the day so it is counted. If the company adds that feature I hope it doesn’t mess up being able to take the photo first if you want to do it that way. Thank you Bitesnap for making an easy food tracker!

Lovin this app😍

I want to say Thank You for making such a great app!!! I love the simplicity but very informative layout! And so universal!!!
I have never had a over-weight problem, in fact mine is opposite. When I get busy, sometimes I forget/no time for a meal. I snack. Then I realize it’s 7:00 at night and I’m wondering “What have I eaten today?”. This app is the answer! And it’s simple enough that I will take the time to use it. And with all the extra info it gives me, I’m excited to see the results 😁 I Love it!

Fun! It’s Like My Own Food Blog!

This app is a very simple way to keep a food journal. You can be as detailed or simple as you want. Love that I can adjust the macro nutrient goals to my way of eating. The only suggestion I have and I’m willing to pay for an upgrade to get it would be a feature to allow you to print your entire log.

This app is so helpful !!

I love the ease and I can snap a pic discreetly and add to it as needed at a later time. It has allowed for much greater constancy in recording my food. The calorie intake may vary and may not be as accurate as other apps but it is very close. End effect it calculates quickly and easily. It’s up to me to make certain the calories are consistent with intake.

Simple pleasure

This app does what it says it does , without a lot of extra fluff. It is excellent at identifying a food stuff from a picture, and I didn’t have to take incredible shots to do it! I get caught up in all the searching that other nutrition apps have, and this app hasn’t gotten clogged down with this. Excellent job!

Perfect App

I love this app! I came across it while looking for something similar that someone recommended but the other app charges a subscription fee and I’m not a fan of subs. I’d happy pay $5 for this app. It’s free and no adds. It’s simple to use, and I like the automatic search function to find your foods.

I can’t think of anything yet to add/recommend for added features since I just started using it but I will update comments once I’ve had time to fully explore the app.

I highly recommend this app!

Great and simple app to use

I have tried several other apps to keep track of calories and macro nutrients and this is by far the easiest to use. I eat several things that are mixed with different things and if the app doesn’t catch it all I can search and add it. I highly recommend the app to anyone wanting to get or stay in good health.

NEEDS ONE THING!!!

I LOVES this app! It is wonderful that it combines photo taking and simple calorie counting together, it makes me so much more likely to log my meals. I don’t like the apps that just upload pictures without having any other data, this is wonderful.

The only thing it is missing, it is driving me crazy, is steps integration!! The app integrates with apple health, but it doesn’t include my apple watches steps from the day?! This is frustrating!! I want my workouts to be included in what is being tracked. Please PLEASE add this integration!!!

Perfect way of tracking what you eat

I am really happy and satisfied using this app. It helped me before losing some weight. And now I just started again and so far nothing changed about this app, amazing and useful as before. But I wish for one thing and that is photo galary of regular food. If we want tea or coffee,i'd like to have a photo here rather than taking photo in front of all people sitting around me☺️
