EXPENSIVE & BUGGY!
Since blink bought this from the government they kept hiking up the price! Now it’s $40-$50 with tax for 5 hours! Used to be around $20-$30 (and same buggy and headache of a service as before SO totally not worth it
App sucks
App is always crashing for my iPhone, I’ve updated it and everything and it still sucks. And now I try to open the app and it doesn’t open at all. The
Crashes
I can’t even open the app now. It immediately crashes. This really sucks. I was looking forward to renting a car on Thursday.
Aaaaarrgh!!
Due to charger not available, I could not park at several locations. This wasted 3 hours finding a place to charge. I called the customer service. I was at culver city to charge. Where the charger was stuck. I was redirected by the customer service to a place in washington boulevard. Only to find that I cannot end my ride there. I could not end my ride at vermont expo too. I had to go to southwestern avenue. It was such a painful experience.

GREAT Concept. POORLY Executed!
The title says it all! Here are the details:
Approximately 90% of the time the vehicle’s software is not working efficiently summed up below:
CONS:
1) The car simply won’t start.
2) There are spaces to park/return vehicle but broken chargers exist. Thus, possible need to go to a different return zone.
3) As one is taking pictures of car and making notations the car may “time-out.” This means you may need to start all over. In general this happens if you reserved the car in advance via the app from a remote location.
4) car won’t lock upon returning.
5) car won’t acknowledge being plugged into charger during the return process.
6) car not always clean (inside nor out)
7) even without all the difficulties above, from the time you walk up to the car until the time you are allowed to drive off, the process takes like roughly 15mins. And yes, the clock is ticking.
All the above usually requires calling them and spending lots of time that you may or may not have to give. Any relocating of course takes whatever time it takes to find the nearest available return which sometimes can be so far that it defeats the whole purpose or plan that you may have put together.
Then at the end of it all, the clock has been quietly ticking during all of this mischief. If you ask for a proration, and if they grant it, it won’t happen until after you pay the full illegitimate price. For some, you may have only had enough to get the car plus maybe a few extra dollars in your account. Thus, you don’t have the amount being asked of you!
Lastly, if you pick up the car… say at 7th and Broadway… you probably have intentions on returning to the exact same location. That doesn’t always happen because the return location may be full. The sad part is it’s not always filled with Blink vehicles. Every now and again a few privately owned EV vehicles have taken over a charger or two. This may send you way out of the way from your home or whatever your destination is.
PROS:
1) car drives wonderfully. From perfect torque to perfect braking. But I can’t give that credit to this company. For that credit belongs to the automobile manufacturer.

Doesn’t show correct availability
Default station doesn’t show correct cars availability when 1st opening app, shows empty
Repeated overcharges, long wait times, poor support
Every time I’ve used this app, I’ve been overcharged and had to contact support to correct it. The wait times to reach someone are consistently 1–2 hours, and it’s even worse at night. It used to be frustrating, but now customer service seems nonexistent. I don’t feel this app is reliable or user-friendly at all.

Scam App 🛑
App is a scam. Don’t use it. Credit card can’t be deleted from your profile. App never works. When you try to end your ride, you have to call support and stay on hold for obnoxiously long wait times while they take your money for over charges and they will lie and say they’re processing a refund after you harass them and never will. Complete garbage.

Terrible Service
This is a great concept and I’ve been using it for a few years now. It’s always had problems but I kept hoping it would get better. Starting or finishing a ride has always been buggy but at least customer service used to be good and problems easily resolved. That seems to no longer be true. Recently dropped a car off and there was a glitch saying the ignition was on (it wasn’t but not the first time I’ve encountered a problem like this). I called customer service and waited for awhile before opting for a call back (it never came). Sent a message via the contact page on the website (no response). Called customer support the next day because there was now a $250 charge placed on my account. I was told someone would message me about the problem (they didn’t). Emailed the next day when I hadn’t heard anything from customer support and that email has since gone unanswered. Emailed again a couple days ago (no response). It’s now been nearly a week and no resolution to the problem. Can’t use the service until it’s resolved. Making the whole thing functionally useless at this point. Do not recommend.

App and car connection needs improvement
The concept is great, the problem really lies between the connection with car and app. It will tell you that the car isn’t connected, or when you are ending the ride it will try to tell you that the ignition is still on/charger is not plugged in. But it locks the door first and then you can’t do anything except call customer service. I’ve probably had to call them over a dozen times to prevent my charges being ran up due to a faulty app assuming I haven’t ended my ride yet. All it takes is 1 company to come in and do it better and this app will get less and less popular.

I rent cars regularly
I usually rent cars through this app a few days out the week. Anytime I rent it’s for 5 hours there’s usually a glitch when returning the car so I would have to call customer service and they would have to end the ride, which ends up charging an extension fee because of the many glitches in the app. Another thing after so many rides I get a survey from blink on email when upon completion I get a promo code for a few bucks off. I’ve done around 6-8 surveys in the past few months I receive the code but the app won’t allow you to enter the code! I’ve walked through this on the phone with customer service and we ended the call upon Greene the app developer needs to fix this in an update, I see there was an update 3 weeks ago yet this still hasn’t been fixed. Doesn’t make sense the app is still full of glitches and at the end of the day we have to pay for it, it’s unfair. The app developer needs to world out the kinks on the user end when updating the app. Please address these issues.

DO NOT USE THIS APP
The Android app is the most buggy app I’ve ever experienced, so I went out of my way to obtain an old iPhone just to use the app. But now I’ve been wrongfully charged an extra $50 because the previous driver of the car I rented left the car dirty. Regardless of whether my case escalation is successful, I’m canceling my membership with Blink Mobility.

Terrible
This is the worst app that I’ve ever seen the worst customer support and it seems like this is a joke. I’ve tried to verify my ID with the app for a month and a half. I’ve talked to five different people in the phone and email support representatives and no one has solved an issue that seems like the most basic thing. Terrible

Re-review app is working better
The app is working better. Not so many issues. I rented a car for the second time today and the app was working way better. What should be said in GIANT letters everywhere in the app is that you need to have Bluetooth and GPS on at the same time to properly access the car’s features.
After the ride, I parked and was able to check in and out. I did have to call customer service to end the ride on their end, that was the only issue. Will use again now that everything is working better.

Response from developer
Thank you for your feedback! We are glad to hear that you are enjoying the app improvements.
Love the idea, execution is terrible
Just used the app and rented a car for the first time today. If customer service didn’t help me, there would be no way I’d be able to lock or unlock the car, or even start or end the ride. I’ve written them via email to let them know. Who knows if they have plans to update the application to be usable.
