Camera doesn’t open and I cannot scan QR code

We understand your frustration about the camera not always opening. We are working with Apple to investigate its root cause. Restarting your device should fix the issue or you can scan the QR code straight from the iOS Camera app. If you continue to have this problem, please contact your sales rep or Bloomberg HELP for further assistance.

This is honestly the best thing Bloomberg have introduced. No more dragging a slightly too big for your wallet but of plastic around the world. Given up on b-swipe now as well. Ten years too late, but really good app.
Remove the needless tap
It’s about time! So much better than a B-Unit.
However, please remove the need to tap the camera button in the app; this is redundant since the app only does one thing anyway (use the camera to scan a QR code). This would further speed things up.
Reading your fingerprint upon opening the app (as a prerequisite to activating the camera) rather than after the scan would also create a more seamless workflow.

Best news for those days when you need to WFH.
One tiny suggestion: automatic notification is awesome, but can you move the Face ID authentication ahead of scanning the bar code? So click on notification -> Face ID to authenticate -> scan the screen -> done! I keep turning my phone down after the barcode scan went thru and I think slightly switching the order makes for an even smoother experience.
