Cool Idea, Seems Like a Beta Testing Phase

Love the idea but had a horrible time with the actual product. Like many others have said, it’s a bit misleading as you have to lay still to get a reading worth anything. The app was insanely glitchy and would get stuck “calibrating” all the time. I seriously felt like I was helping a company beta test a product that wasn’t yet ready for the market! Don’t waste your money.

Waste of money

I wanted this to work so badly but it was a horrible waste of money. It constantly sensed contractions when I wasn’t feeling one (I knew what they felt like, I had a ton of Braxton Hicks) and then, once labor started (totally different feeling contraction) it was missing contractions. Truly this is garbage and I’m sorry I wasted my money on it.

DO NOT GET THIS - ANXIETY INDUCING

I just woke my husband at 4AM and we drove to the hospital because this device told me I was 15-18 contractions PER HOUR for 5 hours. I’m 33 weeks & a first time mom, so this was terrifying to me. I came up to labor and delivery and they have not detected a SINGLE CONTRACTION. I’m not happy at all and will be returning it this week. This is a scammmmmmm beyond scams. We’re data nerds and this thing is trash. If you didn’t have anxiety before, you will after wearing this monitor.

Not good enough

1. HUGE CON: It confuses contractions with baby movements. My ob gyn compared with her monitors.
2. You have to be seated very still to work; even if you are eating something or drink water, it starts to have trouble reading.
3. It takes too long to calibrate.

Difficult to return

I’m not sure where else to review this but here. I didn’t actually use the monitor or the app. As soon as the device arrived I read all of the instructions and realized that the company made it extremely difficult to return. I started the return process immediately so I wouldn’t have to worry about it while I have a newborn. Customer friendly companies will include a return label, a box and stickers to seal it shut with. I already know that I am not going to have time to find a place to print out a label, buy packing tape and go to the post office. I started the return process yesterday and I have yet to hear from anyone at the company or be emailed the return label. It seems like they’re trying to get extra money out of you while you struggle to make a return and care for a newborn.

So helpful in detecting preterm labor

Giving 4 stars because the app can be a bit glitchy and freeze which is frustrating. I ended up having a preemie. I knew I would because of Bloom. If the nurses at the hospital had taken the readings into account or cared about what the app data was, they could have at least tried to stop preterm labor before my water broke. The device stays charged for a really long time which I was impressed with.

Just not accurate enough

I have used this for several weeks during a one hour nap. Even when I am completely still the information is just not accurate. It seems to pick up contractions that I am pretty sure aren’t happening and when I do feel a contraction it does not read it. I have tried resetting and using new sensors in an effort to fix. I highly doubt I will be able to use this to determine go time and therefore it has been a huge waste of money

Incites Anxiety during a stressful enough time

37 weeks pregnant today.

I have had my kit for one week today. I have worn it for two afternoon rest sessions (approx 1 hour each) and every night while I sleep for 8-9 hour sessions.

I have monitored faithfully and have readings of 15+ contractions per hour for an average of 4/8 hours each night. Sometimes I’m sitting perfectly still and feel absolutely nothing, save for maybe baby moving, and it will read and record a 2:30m long contraction and I feel nothing.

I have watched it record contractions when I feel baby moving-start exactly when he starts wiggling and ending exactly when he stops-and sometimes totally missing contractions that I DO feel (this has happened once or twice).

I know it says “can pick up contractions you don’t feel”, but it seems like a cop out to make mamas who are already anxious think that they are spending their money on a worthwhile monitor. It is something to pass the time during sleepless nights, but I’m not depending on it for deciding on “go time”.

Great way to keep your record

I loved using Bloomlife because it helped me keep record of contractions! I was worried if I don’t know what contractions feel like and was worried if I could really measure it right and remember. This device is amazing!

It's ok.

If you're not sitting very still it doesn't get a read. It also takes a long time to calibrate. Cool idea but not for active or working mom's.
Ended up returning after 2 weeks.

Good idea but technology has alot of bugs

1. Sensor never could locate
2. Had to.use to many patches to.troubleahoot and shipping takes almost a week so you can easily lose out on a week waiting for replacement pieces
3. Sensor always lost connectivity even while seating still.
4. The reading is consistent so you get a lot of "?" Asking you if you think it was a contraction so not reliable info.

I wanted to like this product sooooo much but geez I spent most of the time troubleshooting and staring waiting for a connection. Before they add new features please perfect the product first. Key is consistency and reliability!

Tip that prob could help before attaching to patch try resetting sensor customer service can tell you how.

The customer service girls are very nice at least 😃

Not useful for timing contractions before labor

I bought this thinking it’d useful timing contractions when laboring at home before going to the hospital. I’m a second time mom, timing contractions while laboring was tedious.

My biggest annoyance is that you have to stay still/ seated for it to record accurately. And often people are walking and doing stuff during labor.
Not useful for me at all.

Not bad!

It would have been perfect if you can have the ability to run custom reports and share with your doctor if you are concerned about something. There is no way you can share via email unless you do screenshots and send as jpegs which will take a long time vs just running a report. Wish they can make this information available.

Didn’t detect my contractions

I’m finally getting around to writing a review on here. I had my daughter in Feb. I was in active labor and this did not pick up any contractions. Made me second guess myself. I thought I was being wimpy or something. But I found out when I went to the hospital (30 mins after using this) that I was 7cm dilated already. I really wanted this to work because it’s a cool concept to have that data, but I doubt I will spend the money to get this my next pregnancy.

Doesn’t work well always adjusting

I have followed the instructions to the letter and it is always adjusting. Trying the new update may revisit my rating but at this point it’s a complete waste of money. Doesn’t pick up my contractions, only about 45% of the time.

There should be room for some natural movement

Be wary friends, the idea of this device is very cool but just be aware it doesn’t read if you are moving, so if you move at night, have to do anything during the day besides sit and relax or if you do get to do sessions of sitting and relaxing they need to be at least an hour to get a questionably good reading, so if you work, need to drive somewhere, have toddlers, want to fold laundry or do anything while trying to get a good reading you will not be able to, Ive tried it for a week and really gave it the best go I could, I was willing to keep trying but CS confirmed that if you aren’t sitting still it really doesn’t do you much good.

Second Time Mom

So I actually got this for my last couple weeks of pregnancy.

Pros: it was a really fun way to pass the time. It tracks baby movement and contractions on different colored humps, I thought it was pretty cool.
Cons: only works when you are sitting or laying still. Won’t work while driving in a car or if you are actually trying to move through your contractions. It disconnects/loses service from your phone if you move. Also, was hoping my husband could connect his phone and watch it from work, but it only allows one person to connect to one device.

So it was fun for late nights while I was watching television and the toddler was asleep and my husband was at work. Really fun. But i wouldn’t call it a useful tool.

Great customer service.

Piece of #^*+

This thing worked one day after a long calibration. Second day, recorded half session and dropped out. Changed pad and charged it again and it worked. Next day didn't work. It just doesn't connect to Bluetooth half the time or takes too long to calibrate. Waste of money. I took it to ask my doc about it and she said to send it back that they aren't legit. I was past the 7 day money guarantee so didn't get refund.

Response from developer

We are sorry for the frustration, that really is the last thing you need at this point in time. The next version has a fix for the issues you encountered and the calibration time has also decreased.

Terrible/ not worth the money

I waited almost a month for this device to come An not work. Along with ever time you log into the app you get kicked out by bugs. Not worth it. I would give it no stars if it would let me.

Response from developer

Thanks for your review and apologies that it took a while to get Bloomlife to you. Normally we deliver the Bloomlife tracker within 5 days but sometimes USPS messes with our mojo. As for those annoying bugs, thanks for bug hunters like you, we have corrected the glitches that you encountered in the latest version. Sincerest apologies for your frustrations though, we know you might not have a chance to try the newest version during your pregnancy :(

Not reliable

When it works (about 40% of the time) it’s really interesting and helpful. However, the actual device as it relates to connecting to the app is a disappointment. The app is super glitchy, sometimes I’ll have an entire three hour session where nothing is recorded but I know I had contractions, the app freezes up a lot, etc. I’d say unless you have a coupon code and only two weeks left in your pregnancy, don’t waste your time or money.
