Does what itβs supposed to do
waste of time - they deleted my old logged images from just a few months back
Response from developer
Hi, Iβm really sorry you've had this experience, I can see how missing photos would be extremely frustrating. If you previously added photos and now the app shows no journeys itβs typically caused by an iCloud setting, account or device change rather than the photos being deleted. We don't actually store photos on any of our own servers to maximize privacy, and there's nothing in the app that would trigger automatic deletion of data. Possible scenarios that might be causing what you're seeing: - iCloud saving for PhotoJourney was enabled, then later turned off. Re-enable it and the photos should restore. - You were signed into iCloud when you uploaded, then later signed out. Signing back in can bring everything back. - The iCloud account on the device was switched. Older photos will still be backed up under the original iCloud account. - iCloud saving for PhotoJourney was enabled, and then the app was deleted and reinstalled, or installed on a new device. As long as youβre signed into the same iCloud account, your journeys and photos should sync back down. - iCloud saving was not enabled when first using the app, and the app was then deleted and re-installed. This would delete the data along with the app as it was never backed up with iCloud. Please check: Settings β Apple ID β iCloud β Saved to iCloud β PhotoJourney (make sure itβs enabled), and confirm youβre signed into the same Apple ID you used originally. If you have a lot of photos to restore (especially after reinstalling or switching devices), open the app and leave it open for several minutes. You should see journeys and photos start to repopulate gradually as iCloud sync completes. If you donβt see anything right away, try briefly switching tabs or reopening the app to prompt a refresh. I saw you emailed about this issue and I replied right away to help investigate, but I didnβt hear anything back. If you email again (or use βReport a bugβ in the app), Iβll pick it up immediately and will continue to assist you. If I canβt resolve it, you can request a refund through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Thanks, Mike (app developer)

I like that is app
App DELETED all my PHOTOS & JOURNEYS
Response from developer
Hi, firstly I'm very sorry to hear about your experience. We do everything we can to ensure photos are secure and backed up at all times. The app uses your iCloud account (if signed in on your device) in addition to storage within the app to store your photos and journeys. We purposely don't store photos or journeys on our servers to ensure complete privacy, and so that only you can access your photos. If you were logged into iCloud when initially creating journeys or adding photos and then later logged out of iCloud, switched the iCloud account on your device or disabled saving to iCloud for PhotoJourney specifically, it could make journeys / photos seem to disappear, but they should still be backed up in the original iCloud account. Please check your iCloud settings (Go to: Settings > iCloud > Saved to iCloud > PhotoJourney) to double-check PhotoJourney is enabled for iCloud backup there. So long as you were using iCloud (and sign back in with the same account on your device), journeys and photos should re-appear in the app when you re-enable this setting. When the app re-stores photos / journeys from iCloud, either after an app deletion or an iCloud settings change, it may take several minutes photos to appear in the app. If you've never deleted the app, or changed your iCloud settings, then it is extremely unusual for photos or journeys to randomly disappear from the app. I can imagine how frustrating this must be though so once again I apologize for this poor experience. If the steps above regarding iCloud configuration don't resolve your issue and you would like to request a refund you can go to https://reportaproblem.apple.com and do so there, as I would of course be happy for your subscription to be refunded. In terms of improving our app and ensuring this doesn't happen again for you or others, it would be helpful if you could get in touch via the 'Report a bug' option from settings within the app. This sends us an email that includes some information about your device and iOS version, so we can try and better pinpoint the root cause of the issue you experienced. Or if you'd like to get in touch straight away with any thoughts or questions, please reach out to me directly at photojourney@shipyardstudios.io - Thanks, Mike
Canβt use app without paying
Great app, terrible cost
Those prices are way too much. Which is a shame, because like I said, it's a well-made app. I would have definitely paid for the Pro version if the cost was more reasonable, but instead I will have to abandon it for now. If the price is lowered in the future I would love to come back to it.
Response from developer
Hi there, thanks so much for the kind words about PhotoJourney being well made, and for giving it a try! I understand your concern about pricing. To give some context, as an independent developer, the subscription helps support me directly as income and it is how Iβm able to afford to keep improving the app. I also made a deliberate choice to not use backend servers. Instead photos stay on your device and are backed up in your own iCloud account, which means theyβre completely private and only you can access them. Thatβs actually a big security advantage over many other apps that upload and store personal photos on their own systems. The subscription also allows me to dedicate time to building new features and providing dedicated support for PhotoJourneyβs users β again, something many other apps donβt provide. Iβd be interested to understand more about what youβd consider a fair price for the app, and if you have any other feedback on the appβs features, so feel free to reach out at photojourney@shipyardstudios.io if youβd like to discuss further. β Mike

Thereβs no way to add comments to your photos
Response from developer
Hey, thanks for reaching out, this is great feedback. I'm actually working on this feature as we speak, and hope to release a new version of the app that includes photo notes within the next couple of weeks. If you reach out to photojourney@shipyardstudios.io I'd be happy to let you know when this feature is available, and also so I can get your feedback on how it works. β Thanks, Mike
horrible. it deleted a week bc it wouldnβt let me pay
Response from developer
Hey, I'd be happy to help try and resolve the payment bug you were experiencing. Feel free to get in touch at photojourney@shipyardstudios.io with more details and I can dig into a fix for you asap. The in-app subscription required for the pro version supports the continued development of the app and reflects the value of the features PhotoJourney provides for tracking visual changes through time. There is a free trial available for the pro version, which you seem to have used, but the app doesn't delete any images if you cancel the free trial or stop subscribing. You can export photos from the app at any time in the photo screen, whether you are a subscriber or not. I'd be happy to help you locate this option if you are having trouble, so you can move them to another app. β Thanks, Mike
Great app

Thanks so much for your review. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the app. Our pricing helps support continued development of the app, and supports myself as an independent developer. If you have any further feedback on how we could improve the app or the pricing, please reach out to photojourney@shipyardstudios.io. I'd be happy to discuss further β Mike.
Overpriced $30
Response from developer
Please note that this review is inaccurate. Our app does not require an upfront purchase to test the product β you can try it for free before subscribing, either through a free trial (with unlimited functionality) or without a free trial (with some limitations such as watermarks on exported videos). The app provides a number of features which help you track visual progress, such as before & after photo comparisons, time-lapse video generation tools, and custom-designed camera tools to help you take the perfect progress pics every time. If you are having trouble accessing these features then please reach out to hello@shipyardstudios.io β we'd be happy to help. Thanks - Mike.

Super easy
Mirror image
Response from developer
Hi there. You can flip the image in the camera to show an un-mirrored view using the βflipβ button shown on the right-hand side of the screen (look for the button with the two triangles). If you want to flip images after capture, thereβs also the option to flip images in the βWatchβ screen when playing back your journey. So no matter what, you can always view images mirrored or un-mirrored. If youβre having trouble accessing this functionality or you think something isnβt working then please feel free to get in touch at photojourney@shipyardstudios.io. Iβd be happy to help troubleshoot any issues. - Mike
