Just let us use this version

The inconvenience I have with migrating to the new version is that the new version is not this one. I like being able to download my books. I like being able to organize books to my liking in bookshelves. I like the app being more E-Reader and less storefront. Give the users what we want. More of this version, less of the abomination that the new one has become.

I would have been fine if we could just keep our current libraries in this version of the app. The devs just want to force us on the new version that of lesser quality, so they just delete our English library here.

The devs are missing the point, we know you have a new version, but we do not like the new version and prefer this one.

In addition, a download feature has been added to the BookWalker App. We hope you find it useful.

Give me my books back!

You stole over 100 books that I purchased from my library, it said that it had archived them but when I went to unarchive them they disappeared from my owned list it went from 856 down to 748 I can confirm this because the new app still has all of my old books. Return them.

I need this version back

I love this app but the new version it’s just the worst I don’t see the ideas of changing something that it’s working for trying new ideas that clearly nobody liked. Buying points and no having my manga organized it’s just the worst. Please give us back what we had.

4月UP以降、iPadOS版でネットワーク接続不可エラーで使用不能になりました。

iPadOS 16.7.15 の初代iPadPro(9.7inch) Wi-Fi版を使用しております。2026年4月のアップデート以降、ログインしても「ネットワークが接続出来ません」とエラーが出るようになり本の閲覧が出来ません。勿論設定を確認してもそんな設定はしておらず、理不尽に使用不可能になりました。もう10年以上利用しており、購入した書籍が無駄になりました。無輪サポートサイトを拝見しましたが、見当違いの内容の記載しかなく、こちらも読むだけ無駄でした。勿論アプリの削除、再インストールも効果はありません。 Bookwalkerは、初期のユーザーイベントで仕様の検討会にも参加させていただきましたが、こんな形で裏切られました。今月末をもって読み放題サービスも解約します。今後の新刊はAmazon Kindleに完全移行します。購入済みの書籍はWebブラウザー版で閲覧し、結局iPadOSアプリ版は使い物にならないのでアンインストールしました。正直☆はつける価値すら全く有りませんが、付けられる点数が☆一つしかないので、遺憾ながら1つだけつけざるを得ませんでした。
2026/4/25追記: 結論として、Ver.7.8.9で起動不可エラーだけは解消されました。しかしサーバーに保存した本棚データをリストアして不具合直前の状態に本棚を修正するもフリーズ→アプリ再起動を繰り返す為に本棚復帰不可で使い物にならない状況には変わりません。結局再アンインストールしました。軽視削減優先で最低限のリグレッションテストすら省略する点は、インフラ軽視した同グループのニコニコ動画と同様です。私もこれ以上の被害を避ける為、所持しているコインを使い切りったら二度とBookwalker で課金はしません。せめて購入済書籍のepub化が出来れば見直してやらなくはありませんが…。組織が落ちぶれる時はあっという間でしたね。

Terrible offline reading experience

What’s the point of downloading manga onto my device if only half of it loads and you constantly get hit with random loading screens? Kobo has a much better download and offline reading experience for buying and reading on planes.

Good but Inconvenient

I wish it were easier to access the store without changing device language. I enjoy using bookwalker, and I don't really like the new alternative to the Global Store. I miss the ease of being able to see both Japanese and English series as a language learner.

文字が正常に表示されない、ダウンロードしてもオフラインで読めない

コミックを読んでる時は気にならなかったのですが、ラノベだと「あ"(濁点付あ)」みたいな特殊な文字は表示されません。
Webブラウザ版ではしっかり表示できているのでこちらでもどうとでもできるでしょうに。
物語に浸っていたのに突然の◼︎で一気に引き戻されて悲しいです。
初回の読み初めでフォントのダウンロードしてたので、設定でアプリフォントに変えたらいけるのか？って試しましたがダメでした。
ラノベでは特殊な文字が割と出てくるのでこの辺をしっかりして欲しいです。

ついでに、ダウンロードしたのに完全オフラインだと認証やら何やらで読めないの勘弁してくれ。
しばらく電波入らない環境にいる時の楽しみとしてダウンロードして準備したのに何も読めなかったぞ。
せめて一度認証したら1〜2週間は読める様にしてくれ。

Miss this app so much

The new platform is ugly as hell. I prefer this app’s platform and website over the new one. Gosh it’s gonna take me a long time to get used to the new one. Please don’t remove this app from here. I really wanna keep my customized bookshelves. Everything is just so much more nicely organized.

This app is a scam

When I’m trying to read a manga, it doesn’t work it only lets you look at five pages and then it just doesn’t let you read the rest of it and mind you. It just skipped straight into one chapter all the way at the end or beginning and it doesn’t let you read the rest for instants. I’m trying to read volumes six of chainsaw man so when I press on it, it just keeps on skipping over to the end when I’m trying to read it I deleted a completely good app just for this app because I wanted to read it with color but I’m gonna download a bag manga plus because it’s better. This app is trash and I hope nobody downloads this please before you download an app read the reviews.

Slow, buggy and crashes often

But my biggest complaint is that I cannot easily access Japanese content. Judging from the other reviews, this used to be a feature that was removed.

Overall, the great app

This is an awesome app for reading, manga, light novels, etc. My only complaint is that I am unable to purchase through the app and I have to go to the website. Better integration between the website and the app would make the experience smoother but even with this minor hiccup, this app is great. I would love for a function to be at it that would allow you to automatically create bookshelf entries for each individual series. Hopefully, the developers will see this and make it happen.

단점은 네이버 시리즈와는 다르게 키보드 방향키 조작이 안되서 매크로를 활용한 원격 리모컨 조작이 안됨.

Bookwalker itself is good, good translations, graphics
But you can’t buy from the app and not good connectivity. It works like a kindle, and not a very good one at times. But if you are going to buy novels at book walker, then it’s worth it.

Why not?

I’m unable to download the “New” Book Walker app on my older iPad, and some of the books already in the iPad cannot be read now because the books’ new editions came out.
I have bought many paper books in the past and never complained about them having some misspelling etc even after new editions came out. Why cannot you just let us read the books we bought and paid for?

ゴミ。終わった。買った本を返せ。

本データはダウンロードするのにインターネット通信が必須でアプリ更新が必要。OSが対応しておらず旧バージョンインストール→不可、アプリ開くとアプリのアップデートが必要でapp storeに飛ばされる無限ループ。このアプリやウェブサイトで本は買わない方がいい。

要望；旧OS用簡易アプリも出して欲しい

OSのバージョンが古いと旧バージョンのアプリが起動しないし、最新バージョンはインストールが出来ません。他のジャンルのアプリなら、それも仕方がないとは思うのですが、購入した本を読むためのアプリがOS依存というのも残念です。キ◯ドルアプリならまだまだいけてるんですけど...。そこで、要望としては、最新のアプリと並行して古いOSでも使用可能な簡易版アプリも同時にストアに置いといてもらうことは出来ないものでしょうか？特にバージョンアップなどの必要もありませんので。ブラウザで読むよりは楽だと思うんです。
