Cancellation and Rescheduling
Bookmyshow has the worst cancellation policy on this planet. They not only charged me 354 convenience fee for booking the tickets but then proceeded to charge me an additional 750 rs to cancel my tickets without providing me a refund on my initial convenience fee.
I wished to modify my booking to another timing and if I did that via bookmyshow I would have been charged another 354 rs in convenience fees. Bookmyshow will blame their terrible policy on their theater partners but it’s the app’s onus to make it right since they are the ones who charge a convenience fee in the first place. I am never going to use bookmyshow again.

No Information about cancellation of show
I have been using BookMyShow for a while. But recently I was utterly disappointed. I booked tickets for a live event (comedy standup) for a group of 4 in patna. We all had to travel a great deal (25km in city traffic), during heavy rain to reach to venue on time.
Upon reaching, someone at Venue told us that the even had been cancelled already. I mean, neither BookMyShow took any accountability nor the event manager.
Who will take the ownership of wasting our time, effort, fuel? Why was I not informed well in advance about cancellation when the show was canceled atleast 2 days before it was supposed to be happening

Cancellation and modification request
I had a terrible experience with BookMyShow's cancellation policy. I accidentally booked tickets for a movie releasing next week instead of the one releasing today. I immediately contacted customer support and requested if they could simply modify or exchange my booking to today's show.
Instead of helping with a simple change, they told me the only option was to cancel the booking. To make matters worse, they deducted nearly ₹1,000 as a cancellation charge on a ticket worth ₹2,968. Charging such a high cancellation fee for an honest mistake, especially when the request was made immediately, feels completely unreasonable and unfair.
A customer-friendly platform should offer flexibility for genuine booking errors instead of imposing excessive penalties. This experience has left me very disappointed, and I hope BookMyShow reviews its cancellation and modification policies to treat customers more fairly. Until then, I would advise others to double-check every booking because even a small mistake can end up being very expensive.
