Very disgruntled
It said it will let you know when your subscription was getting ready to run out it did not do. Trust me $89.99 for a year subscription. That I did not want, I tried to cancel the service it kept giving me the runaround and not let me cancel . I emailed them did not get a response to cancel the subscription. I would not recommend trying it out at all.

Incorrect $89.99 charge and no support
I signed up for a three-day trial. On Day 3, before the trial ended, I chose to cancel. BookWatch then offered me an annual subscription for $19.99, which I accepted and paid through Apple.
Despite that agreement, BookWatch separately charged my checking account $89.99 through Stripe. I should have been charged only the accepted $19.99 rate plus tax.
I have emailed customer support twice and also contacted BookWatch through the in-app chat. I provided documentation of both charges and clearly requested a refund of only the incorrect $89.99 charge. I have received no response through either channel.
The lack of customer service regarding a billing problem is unacceptable. I will update this review if BookWatch responds and issues the refund.

Good app but no response to my refund request via email
I actually thought the app was pretty good and it seems like it could be useful for the right person. However, it wasn’t quite what I expected, so I decided I didn’t want to continue with the subscription.
Unfortunately, I forgot to cancel before the free trial ended and was charged $89.99 for the annual plan. Within about an hour of noticing the charge, I contacted support and requested a refund.
It’s now been going on 2½ weeks, and after 3 emails, I still haven’t received a response. At this point, I’m mainly looking for communication and an update regarding my refund request.

Great Content, but a Glitchy App and very poor Customer Service
I love the idea behind BookWatch and really enjoy the book summaries and content. Unfortunately, the app itself has been very frustrating to use. It’s full of glitches—some books won’t play at all, and others don’t show as completed even after I’ve finished them.
What has been even more disappointing is the customer service. I’ve tried contacting support through the chat, but no one responds, and I also sent an email without receiving any help.
The content has a lot of potential, but good content doesn’t make up for poor app quality and nonexistent customer support. At this point, I wouldn’t recommend the app.

This app sucks. It told me it wasn’t gonna charge me till after the 7 days of the free trial and it immediately charged me right after. Any time I start a lesson it doesn’t let me move on so I’m starting books for nothing. Garbage.

Great for breaking down the book in sections or summarizing it with the video, but the advertisement had me thinking. It was Going to turn the entire book into a video I can watch.

Overcharge - limited books
Hello, I wanted to bring your attention to an overcharge issue. I initially subscribed to the 7 day trial as I was intrigued by the idea of visual learning. On day two I need this application wasn’t for me because the limited amount of books that were available. I felt that the $139.99 was overpriced. Upon choosing the council subscription option I was offered a $19.99 annual subscription. I decided to keep the subscription because I thought in the future, they may add more books and this was a fair price indeed. The Apple app showed an invoice and receipt for the $19.99 however BookWatch directly charged my bank the full amount of $139.99 plus I was also charged a foreign transaction fee. I thought this was unusual because normally when you buy through Apple, the charge on your bank shows it was through Apple, and this charge came directly from BookWatch. It’s only been a couple of days so I’m hoping that this billing error gets resolved shortly, but I just want people aware that this may occur and it seems to be some kind of internal issue. Having severe ADHD I find out a program like this could be particularly helpful, but until they increase their library of availability, I feel they’re overpriced for the product that is offered.

I sent a formal written dispute on September 1, 2026. No response. Their own website promises refunds “no questions asked” — they won’t even answer an email.
I’ve now filed a bank dispute and a CFPB complaint.
If you subscribe, know that BookWatch’s billing system can charge you even when you’re already paid and current — and their support goes silent when you call it out.
