Wouldn’t open on my MacBook Pro

Frustrated that it wouldn’t open on my computer. I tried to put it in the trash and it said it was open but it wasn’t showing anywhere and didn’t show in the Force Quit screen either. I had to shut down the computer and specify to not reopen open apps, to be able to delete it.
