Unable to Access BT App and Complete Identity Verification
Dear BT Customer Support,
I already have an account with BT, but I am currently unable to access and identify myself through the mobile app.
When my account was originally set up, I did not register a Romanian phone number because I did not have one. At the time, I also understood that a UK phone number could not be used.
Several years ago, I visited the bank in Cluj and specifically requested that my identification details be updated using my valid passport, as my Romanian ID had expired and I no longer use it. I was informed that my details had been updated accordingly.
I recently tried to access the BT app after seeing that it is advertised as being available for use from anywhere. However, I am unable to complete the identification process. I have already contacted the bank and explained the situation, including that my current identification details should be registered using my passport.
I was then advised to enter my Romanian phone number. As I have already explained, I have never had a Romanian phone number associated with this account, so I cannot provide one.
At the moment, I feel that I am being sent back and forth without receiving a practical solution. I would appreciate it if someone could properly review my account history and confirm how I can verify my identity and access the app using my current UK phone number and valid passport.
There also appears to be a technical issue with the app. When I attempt to proceed, it remains stuck on a loading circle and does not progress any further.
Please investigate both the account verification issue and the apparent technical problem with the app, and provide clear instructions on how I can regain access.

Nu pot accesa conturile
Pe aplicație zice ca poți accesa conturile din aplicație și să faci transferul din contul în lire în contul în lei dar nu funcționează pe iPhone

Salut! Ne pare rau pentru experienta avuta 😕 Te rugam sa ne scrii la contactbtpay@btrl.ro, impreuna cu numarul de telefon folosit la inregistrare si o captura a mesajului afisat, pentru a putea verifica punctual situatia si a te ajuta.

Probleme cu aplicația
Problem cu aplicația pe iPhone 11 Pro, deschid aplicația și se blochează automat o închid o redeschid la fel aceiași problemă, îi dau restart la telefon tot aceiași problemă, ecranul practic îngheață pe aplicația nu face nimic,nu pot face nimic și am nevoie de aplicație!

Buna! Ne pare sincer rau pentru experienta neplacuta. Ne dorim sa te ajutam cat mai repede, asa ca te rugam sa ne trimiti mai multe detalii la contactbtpay@btrl.ro sau sa ne contactezi la numarul 0264 308 028. Te asiguram ca lucram constant pentru a imbunatati aplicatia si experienta oferita.

I have tried to register, unable to succeed as of course as a Romanian national I don’t have no more my national ID which have been taken from me 15 years ago by the Embassy in London (because I don’t reside in Romania no more , however, I do go to my homeland each year at least 3 times). simply doesn’t make sense , I have tried to identify myself with my passport but of course again didn’t work. After numerous attempts in the end I give up.
Not the most easiest app to work with. Requires a lot of improvements. Waste of time.
