Pay after tracking 5 contractions

Very disappointed - rather than an ad-based model, the app just freezes and requires a $7.99 payment after tracking 5 contractions. Needless to say there was some frustration when we discovered this, and we were not exactly feeling patient in the “moment”…

Thank you for taking the time to write this, and I’m sorry it landed at such a stressful moment. Just to clear up the misunderstanding: nothing locks. That sheet can be closed and you keep tracking free, up to 30 contractions, which covers a normal labor. It read as a hard paywall here, which is on me — I’m making it clearer so no one hits that in the moment.

Paywall to continue use and App kept crashing

I started using this after my water broke. After 5 contractions I was told to purchase the full app, without realizing I would need to. Because I was in labour and didn’t want to research another in the morning I paid for it. After paying for it, the app crashed 3 times that I gave up and asked for a refund. It wasn’t useful if I couldn’t track any more.

The upgrade screen is intended to be optional, so the app should still remain usable without purchasing. I’ll review how this is presented to make it clearer, and I’ll also investigate the crashes because that should not happen. It’s nice to have a contract counting app that order give you only limited amount of uses, especially for when the contractions are irregular! I’ve recommended this to another one of my pregnant friends who is currently using it!

Amazing !

I downloaded this based on a Reddit suggestion and I'm so glad I did ! My contractions were easy to time, it gives you a little average of your last 10-12. No ads, no annoying paywalls for what you need, and all around amazing. Would use again for my next birth. 10/10

Don’t rely on this

Only use this app as a means to track contractions. Do NOT rely on this app on when to tell you to go to the hospital. It kept telling me that it wasn’t picking up on any consistent trends even though my contractions were 4-5 minutes apart. My baby was almost born in the car because the app said it wasn’t active labor.

Bump Pulse is designed to help track contraction timing and spacing, but it does not determine when someone should go to the hospital. It simply shows contraction patterns and common timing guidance such as the 5-1-1 rule. Labor can progress very differently for everyone, and decisions about when to go to the hospital should always be made with guidance from healthcare professionals. Your feedback is very helpful, and we will work on communicating more clearly in the app that it is meant for tracking contractions, not for deciding when to leave for the hospital. Good app, though not exactly what I was looking for

The app was good at tracking contractions and creating patterns. However, the only feature which no other app seems to have either is the ability to start measuring contractions from different devices. I could access the contraction history from another device where I made the purchase, but if I started a contraction on the separate device, it would not count towards the same “record” of contractions. Essentially each phone has its own record regardless of whether you share it

Thanks for the thoughtful review. You’re right. Right now contractions are stored per device, so starting a timer on another phone won’t merge into the same record. To sync timers properly I’d need an account/linking layer, and I’ve kept the app account-free on purpose. I’ve noted this for a future improvement.

Great basic app

Great basic app. Quick to get in initially and start recording contractions. Would be better if there was an option to edit or add contractions after the fact. Still it works great for basic tracking and timing. No annoying adds. I recommend this hands down if you’re looking for a free and basic contraction tracking/timing app!

Thanks for the review. You can edit contractions after the fact. Just tap a contraction, then tap the Start or End time row to edit it. I’ll also improve the UI so this is clearer.

Easy to use, free. Didn’t follow app’s advice stating I wasn’t in labour knowing full well I was but if just using for timer, really recommend.

Great app and free

This app was super helpful during labor. The large timer button made it easy to use without having to focus too much on the phone. The dark mode was great as well. The time average was super helpful. Overall very thankful for this free app. Thank you!

UI Suggestions

Don’t call deleting data and account deletion “DANGER ZONE”

for the privacy minded, this seems disingenuous.

When I first opened the app, it did not immediately prompt me for notifications. I had to go enable them manually.

I’m hoping there is a dynamic island and live widget support

This app has a lot of potential, I will update my review after some use.
