Broken update
Response from developer
Sorry about the experience. The app shouldn’t become unusable after the location update. Reinstalling the app currently removes locally stored data, but I understand how frustrating that is, especially when the information still exists in Apple Health. I’m looking into any potential performance issue and ways to better restore data from HealthKit in future updates. Thanks for the feedback. If you reach out via the support email, I can assist you further.

Thank you so much for the wonderful five star review! It was an absolute pleasure chatting with you on Reddit and helping you get the settings perfectly dialed in for your fast metabolization profile. Hearing that the app has become a daily tool for you to track your caffeine intake and biohack your sleep is exactly why I built it. I really appreciate your support and your incredibly kind words. Please feel free to reach out anytime if you have more questions or ideas!
Amazing job, with a couple suggestions.
I will be upfront in saying that I do not fully understand the physiology behind how the human body metabolizes caffeine, including factors like timing, dosage, sex, weight, height, and other variables. I am hoping that you do, and the app certainly gives that impression. However, as a user, I currently have no way to understand or verify how these calculations are being made.
It would be extremely helpful to have some kind of learning or education section that explains how caffeine metabolism works in general, as well as how your algorithm determines the statistics it displays. This could also tie directly into the settings area, especially sections like Personal Physiology, Sleep Interference Threshold, and Daily Goals, by helping users understand what those options mean and how adjusting them affects outcomes.
It may be best to assume that most users do not have a strong background in this topic. One idea could be a short onboarding questionnaire that users fill out, allowing the app to automatically configure these settings based on relevant physiological variables. This would reduce confusion and increase confidence in the accuracy of the results.
Down the road, it could also be valuable to have the underlying calculations reviewed by an independent third party and to make the results of that review transparent to users. Even a high-level validation would go a long way in building trust and credibility around the algorithm.
Overall, you are off to a wonderful start. I strongly encourage you to continue your great work. I can easily see this app becoming genuinely useful to a wide range of people.

Thank you so much for the incredibly thoughtful review and the five star rating! I am absolutely thrilled to hear that you are loving the design and finding the app so easy to navigate. You have brought up some truly fantastic ideas regarding transparency and education. I completely agree that adding a learning section to explain caffeine metabolism and how the app calculates your personal statistics would be a huge benefit. Tying those explanations directly into the settings and adding an onboarding questionnaire are brilliant suggestions that would definitely help users feel more confident in their results. Building trust is incredibly important to me, and having the calculations reviewed in the future is a wonderful goal to strive for. Thank you again for taking the time to share such detailed and constructive feedback. It is users like you who will help make this app the best it can possibly be!
