Really helpful app
Helpful for tracking
The scan and log food is super inaccurate
Fix some things
Response from developer
Thanks for the feedback and for trying CalFix. Photo scanning can sometimes have small variations since the model estimates nutrition from the image, especially with homemade foods like chicken fingers where ingredients and oil used can vary. We are continuously improving our models to make the results more accurate. Also, if you are using the free version, you may sometimes see less accurate estimates compared to the premium model. If possible, please raise a support ticket from the Help section in the app or email us at support@calfix.app so we can look into your specific case and understand what might have happened. Team CalFix
Inaccurate
Response from developer
Hey Hannah, We understand your concern, but what you described is technically not possible with how our model works. If a value like 10g is entered, the system will not randomly change it. In most cases this happens when ingredients or quantities are not entered correctly, which leads to estimated values. Sometimes competitors also leave low ratings on smaller apps like ours, which we understand can happen. However, if you are facing a genuine issue, we would really like to help. Please raise a ticket from the Help section in the app or email us at support@calfix.app and our team will assist you within 6 hours. Team CalFix
Useful features cost money
Response from developer
Hey, thanks for your feedback. Just to clarify, the app is free to use as well. You can tap on “Unlock for free” and continue after watching a small ad. The ads help us keep everything running. Sometimes the photo estimation may give incorrect calorie values, especially in the free version. We’re continuously improving the accuracy and working on better results in the upcoming updates. Thanks for trying the app and sharing your thoughts.
Good free app
Also some of the in app “health score” for the foods aren’t accurate at all. I just put in plain white eggs and the healthy score said 6/10. Which is often a score that will appear when I eat fast food. So that doesn’t make the most sense. I also wish there was a free feature to track body fat % or at least some space within the app to take notes. There are neither one at the moment. All in all it’s a decent app and you do get a good amount of tools for the basic version.
Response from developer
Thank you very much for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re really glad to hear that you’re enjoying the app and finding the free features useful for tracking macros, weight, and exercise. We truly appreciate you pointing out the areas where we can improve. We’re already working on refining the health score system so it better reflects real nutritional value, and we’re also reviewing the ad experience to make it less disruptive. Regarding features like body fat tracking and notes, we’d love to hear your ideas in more detail. Please write to us at support@calfix.app and let us know exactly what you’re looking for. We promise to review your suggestions carefully and aim to include them in an upcoming update. Thanks again for your support and for helping us make Calfix better.

Doesn’t work
Response from developer
Hi, We’re sorry to hear you’re frustrated, but we’d like to clarify a few things. The app is completely free to use, and we always recommend trying it first before upgrading to premium. If something wasn’t working, the right step is to raise a support request so we can help or issue a refund. We provide refunds without hassle when a genuine issue is reported. From our records, we’re pretty sure there was no active premium purchase on this account. If you believe otherwise, please contact support and we’ll verify it immediately. Posting a negative review without reaching out to support first makes it look like the intent is only to lower the app rating, not to resolve the issue. We’re constantly improving the app and actively help users who contact us. Please let us know exactly what didn’t work by raising a support request. We’ll either fix the issue or refund you. We’re here to help.

Very Accurate
Response from developer
Thank you so much for your kind feedback! We’re really glad to hear that you find our calorie estimates accurate. If you ever have questions or suggestions, feel free to reach out to us anytime.
Used to be an interesting startup. Now money grab
I couldn’t find how to fully enter calories that I calculated myself into my daily log, so the app became useless for me
The manual entry or photo entry was often not accurate anyway I’ve had it tell me one mango was 50 000 calories.
I’m no expert but that’s a little off lol
Either way the way it is now I don’t see this app survive, there’s more accurate out there if you’re willing to pay anyway.
And normal ai chatbots (copilot chat gtp ..) can estimate calories based on photos or description too and they are free

Hi Nina, Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, we’re sorry to hear about your experience. CalFix is now free to use again, and we’ve made major improvements to our AI model for more accurate photo and barcode recognition. For those looking for even higher accuracy and added features, our premium plans now offer much more than the old basic version ever did. We’re constantly improving, and we’d love for you to give it another try with the latest update. Appreciate your feedback, it really helps us grow. Team CalFix
