Worthless
With the old app essentially bricked, I download this new app. When opening it, I was only given two options to login / sign up; sign using Apple or sign in using Google. It would no longer allow signing in with my email address which is problematic, as it’s none of these companies business how, when and where I use MY grill. Because of this, the grill will be moving on to a new home. I suggest you do the same.

So far so good
I read the reviews and they seem somewhat negative so I thought I would post mine. My woodwind pro connected fine to the Wi-Fi. Able to control the temperature and the smoke level on my phone. So far, I have no complaints about the app so I’m giving it five stars.
Worse than before
I had high hopes for this new app, but after using it many times I’m saddened to report it’s worse than before. I receive late notifications and duplicate notifications and out of order notifications that provide no benefit over standing beside the grill. In addition, the graphing display is more difficult to read and understand than the Prior app.

Great improvement for me!
I like this updated app much better! It seems much more solid with its connection and I really like the new interface design!
Don’t know if there was also a firmware update with it, but it all works much more smoothly and consistently than before!

Pire app et bbq ever
Depuis mon achat de ce bbq service a la clientèle mediocre produit non fiable avec les sensors , meme apres avoir changer le board digital et les sonde . Avec la nouvelle app impossible de ce connecter meme si tu es coller sur le bbq ou le wifi . Honnêtement payer p’us cher pour un autre marque .
Not Functional
I still cannot figure out how to actually set up a cook in the app. I can’t click anything from the recipes when directed there and the graph will not show up even after I have been cooking for hours. All of the support videos and text are for the old version and I cannot figure this app out.
Better but not great
Well, this is a slight improvement over the previous app. Both have poor functionality and limited interface. So much potential to do cool stuff and yet it falls short. This new app does connect much better to the smoker, but why can’t it notify me when a temp probe reaches a specified temperature? It’s still glitchy.

Much better than previous
I came here specifically to leave this review. This app is so much better than the old one. The previous app was buggy, disconnected or crashed frequently, and also seemed to be a factor in the grill not maintaining a steady temperature. I was so frustrated with the grill and the app that I was ready to ditch it and buy a different brand. This new version seems to have resolved all of these issues. The only thing missing (and the reason for only 4 stars) is that there is no temperature graph. To be clear, the old version’s graph was next to useless, to the point that I had to use a third-party thermometer if I wanted to plot doneness/cook time. Having an actual resizable graph is a must-have for tracking temperature and predicting completion time for long cooks. Overall though, the 4 stars are well-deserved and I hope to see more additions and improvements in the future. Kudos.

Much improved
I was very critical of the old app. So far this seems much improved. It connects quickly and seems to have a few new features.
I really don’t know what the other brands apps offer though so I can’t compare.

Probe Temp Fail
This new app has been terrible! Will absolutely NOT let me manual set a probe temp. Wants to default to their presets. No matter how many times I switch to manual and set my own temp and hit the checkmark, nothing!!!!! Keep in mind I also still have the old app this replaced on my phone and it works PERFECTLY! C’mon Camp Chef, don’t rush a new app release that’s not better than the old version.

App won’t connect to WIFI
Despite thoroughly diving into the internet to see what others have tried to get the app to connect to WIFI, my grill doesn’t connect.
Talked to customer support who basically told me to do everything that I had already tried from the internet searches and, of course, it still didn’t work.
I was told that the newest app update was having a lot of issues and that they were working on getting it fixed as soon as possible. They asked me to fill out more information about my grill so that they could pass it along to the programmers.
I now have a beautiful grill with no remote access and no idea when/if it will ever work properly.

Old app was better
I had to reset my grill for this new app. Now I can’t add smoke over 300 degrees, even though I get a message that smoke is not available above 350 degrees. Connection now drop’s continuously so I end up controlling everything from the grill. What use is there in having the app. Old app was much more stable. I never had connection issues. No timer function with this app, although it doesn’t matter because the app won’t connect and work anyway. So now I have no app and lost ability to add smoke at higher temps.

Buggy
Continues to have the same buggy interface when renaming and adjusting settings of probes. It typically takes several “saves” for the app to register or one needs to close app and reopen for the new probe settings to be visible. The old app had the exact same issue. Can’t understand how developers allow such a basic functionality issue be allowed to linger for all these years.. do you not test this on all platforms?

Live Activities
Would love to see the option for live activities added. Having the temperature and time right on the lock-screen would be a game changer.
Am I missing something?
What good is the app if as soon as I get to far away my Bluetooth connection is dropped. So annoying having to position myself in my house so I’m close enough to re-establish the connection only to look at it once walk far enough away to have it dropped again. All WiFi should be the route you’re going for.

Barely works
App constantly disconnects from grill when my phone is sitting less than 5’ from it. Last app wasn’t much better either

Where did the timer go
Old version had a countdown timer that I used every time I used the pellet grill. I have looked all thru the app and the updated version seems to not have it anywhere. I prefer the old version

Horrible
Absolutely terrible app and even worse customer support. I bought a Wi-Fi-enabled smoker and can’t even use the Wi-Fi features because the controller refuses to update its software. What’s the point of paying extra for smart features that don’t work?
The app is buggy, unreliable, and feels like it was abandoned years ago. When I contacted support, they were completely unhelpful and offered no real solution. I wasted hours troubleshooting something that should have worked out of the box.
Their software and customer service are an embarrassment. If connected features matter to you, look elsewhere.
