Don’t waste your time with capital one shopping. The Capital One shopping app promises a lot but fails to deliver. From supposed deals on products to rewards for games they promise a lot but then claim that you didn’t meet the requirements after spending your money or worse, using your time.
Waste of time
I received a $40 movie ticket offer in exchange for doing a bunch of hoopla, only for it to not work at all.
Scam
I have been using this shopping portal for a few years. It rarely tracks and pays accurately. If it is a large amount it is listed as ineligible despite adherence to all requirements.

I love Capital one and I’ve been with them for years but please I love shopping. I love doing all this stuff but sometimes I like doing it at night, but the white screen is just too bright. Can we like you know make it dark?

Account Review in Progress
I earned $380 in rewards and when they finally settled on my account it switched to “Account Review in Progress” and has been stuck there for 6 business days. Feels like a big scam. No response from support after sending an email 4 days ago.

Not worth the time
Most every time I use Capital One Shopping, I don't receive the deal offered. For example, I completed an offer for $10 off of a $20 purchase at Woot. I received only .39 back on this offer. Not worth my time or effort.

Who wouldn’t want to save money? This is the site I would use and purchase from every day. I get discounts and coupons randomly added to my order.

Inconsistent rewards system
I rarely write reviews, but I must say capital one shopping’s rewards system is very inconsistent. With the browser extension, occasionally you will get special offers or cash-back, but rarely are these rewards actually granted. If your page refreshes, or runs into an error, your rewards are essentially voided. It is incredibly frustrating at times. Customer service is inconsistent to get ahold of. Wouldn’t recommend, not worth the headache.

Takes 4 months to redeem anything.
This app is so inconvenient and slow and has been designed to be that way. It takes three months for the reward to even register on your account. Then you have to jump through all kinds of hoops and give them access to your credit card or bank account for them to review your transactions and “ confirm your identity” and that takes another week of waiting. I have been on apps that are slightly inconvenient in some ways but this app has taken it to such an extreme level. Their angle is for you to wait so long for the reward to populate that you forget it’s even there. Waiting three months for a reward to populate is absolutely absurd, and we know by using other apps that there is no reason that it would take this long other than them intentionally doing that. If I could give the zero stars I would. This is the most inconvenient time-consuming app I’ve ever used in my entire life. I have never waited months to potential receive something and then wait another month to maybe find out if I can receive the reward after waiting for five months. It’s absolutely crazy. And after you use a reward, even if you call them, they can’t give you an answer or tell you if it was even accepted because “ it takes 90 days to populate”. Do yourself a favor and don’t use this app.
