Only some calls go through
I missed over a year worth of missed calls that were important. I only recently figured out that it was captionmate the whole time.
The CC Works good enough throughout a call. But waiting on someone to call you and your phone doesn't ring doesn't help. I thought it was a Verizon issue for quite some time and had a lot of resets over the past year.
Finally today Verizon changed the classic to cloud and I received the call real fast. Yet when in classic mode her call would get bounced back and not even ring on either endnot was there an option for voicemail. With cloud it acted a bit quicker to ring and pass networks. In classic mode it's a 50/50 change the call may go through and if it does the voicemail picks up and does not even alert a call and voice mail happenes. When the switch to cloud was made somehow all the old non existent calls and voice mails popped up. It went back a year and a half of missed calls.
I can honestly say I dislike this app soo much after causing me to lose a great job offer that would have change my life especially being Deaf.

Unreal and Life-Saver App!
When I was younger, in 1 million years, I never thought I would have a hearing Handicap. It all is from long-term effects of experimental chemo therapy I was on to save my life. I had a very rare cancer of my appendix in 1998 and about eight years ago, I lost a lot of my cilia, which controls hearing and went almost completely depth overnight. And now I have a cochlear implant, and there are times it misses it all. I discovered CaptionMate, and in my humble opinion, it is absolutely the best app out there in order to hear everything if you will. It transcribes everything for you both, what you say and what the person you are talking to says, and it is absolutely wonderfully unbelievable! It also by the way, saves those transactions. I referred several people to CaptionMate now and they all agree with me - it us unbelievable and a lifesaver!

This app has been amazing. It’s been extremely helpful. It’s been a lifesaver and makes things so much easier. Especially with the transcripts. You can go over any part of the conversation to confirm you understood correctly.

Lousy reception
So far not one person can hear me when I answer. They hang up before I can figure out what’s wrong.
Caption Mate the best
Unfortunately with hearing loss, listening can be a challenge. Caption Mate is truly a “godsend” in assisting those with hearing loss to communicate effectively on the phone. Not only do you see the other person’s text in one color, you see your comments as well in a different color. Caption Mate support services are super, easily accessed online or by phone. Caption Mate support service is totally focused on making their service available to those with hearing loss. Excellent all around.

Awesome Service
I use CM daily and couldn’t live without it. I also volunteered for the National Park Services at the Grand Tetons National Park for four months this past summer and relied heavily on CM to perform my tasks. Couldn’t have performed my tasks without CM. I hope others benefit from CM as I do.

Insult to injury
First off, this app makes it abundantly clear that they do not want to help autistic people who have hyperacusis, autophony, and sound induced vestibular symptoms. They explicitly tell you that it is illegal and that it is perjury for you to use this app as someone who has any hearing issue besides de facto hearing loss. On top of that, they will endlessly harass you after you download it, despite the fact that they explicitly do not want to help you because you do not matter to them. I wish I had never heard of this app.

Fantastic tool for us deaf people.
Great App, but….
The app is great! I love it, but the only problem is when I call people, they don’t answer my calls most times because the call comes through as “scam likely”.. how can that be fixed?? This is a 5 star App but the fact that my call shows up on other people phone as scam likely makes me drop a star.

Changed my life!
This app has changed my life. As a HOH person, talking on the phone is hard! Plus I’m a texter anyway! This app gave me confidence to talk on the phone again with its live transcription of calls!
Works great!
Slowly became hearing impaired and can no longer understand phone calls. This app has been a blessing . I no longer have to depend on family members for help.
Mostly excellent
Latet deafened, I have good speech, but zero hearing. I have been looking for a means to use a telephone, and I’ve tried a couple of providers for landlines and a couple of different apps for my cell. I downloaded CaptionMate several months ago and find it works remarkably well, when it works properly. Every so often, the program glitches, and I cannot get to the CaptionMate calling screen. After a couple of attempts, the problem seems to sort itself out, and it is not really very frequent. Overall, this is the best captioning app I have found after several attempts and multiple discussions with other users. The accuracy is quite good, and transcriptions are saved to your phone if you want, including both sides of the conversation.

Lifesaver!!
This app has allowed me to be able to communicate with others again!! I use it at home, on the job, and in public. My hearing aids pick up voices, however my word comprehension is less than 25%. This app allows me to follow a conversation without having to constantly say, “What?” or “Could you repeat that?” Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Doesn’t work
I'm still not convinced...
When I make a call, the number I use appears on the incoming result. The closed caption number was different, I didn't want to use a different number because I can't keep track of more than two numbers. Three would be too much.
Each closed caption app I've been using shows a different number during an incoming call and it caused a few people to ignore it and believe to be an anonymous call.

Great captioning app for IPhone
Found this a few days ago and figured I would give it a try due to all the good reviews and am not disappointed
Been wearing hearing aids since I was 5 yrs old and lipread mostly so talking on phone is very difficult for me and use iPhone mostly for texting
Now I can call people and captions appear from the conversation and I just reply to them by reading the words and not worry about if I hear them correctly
Customer service is excellent since had 2 questions about the app and got replies in a short period time from Jon Thanks Jon

No updates, no customers
Compared to other apps it has more accessible visual representation. The reason for the 3 stars is sometimes calls try to come through and the app crashes. When it crashes I don’t have the call in my history and cannot call the person back. Most importantly, there is no incoming call vibration.
