Very confused - what the ?!
I bought the scanner 3 yrs ago, worked well, price was reasonable. I want to renew and use it again to check a few things.
The prices are now $75 for a year or $30/month lol
Ridiculous !

Claims it does all these things but after you purchase the actual thing you have to purchase their outrageously priced app. Then when it doesn’t work because they claim it only works with certain vehicles they won’t refund your money because they are out of the states.
Don’t be fooled
Save your money. Buying this app is just the beginning. In most cases to use any of the features you have to buy their OBD tool. And even it’s highly likely you still won’t be able to access the advertised features. What they don’t disclose is that even tho your vehicle may be listed along with the features it’s supposed to have it’s highly unlikely it will work. It’s laughable to read the developers response to reviews about people should just contact them. Been there done that. Their typical response is auto makers have various versions of their software so not all features may work. Thanks for paying us you fools. Total lack of full disclosure. Buyer beware

Fails to clear codes
Paid full version, waste of money basic check engine lights fail to clear or reset.

All I can say is it’s first class and a brilliant piece of kit

You can not do dpf static re-gen or any other services listed on there app page. Car must be too old. Wish I had of know before spending the money.
Price to features
60 bucks a year got basic diag and 2 to 3 bells and whistles. No monthly options so they can squeeze you every year rather than letting you pay 10 bucks for a month when you actually need to use it. Tossing this thing.
Not all EV. Compatible even with subscription
Not great, only performs basic scan for the ECU only, does not scan all modules even with the subscription for a 2026 Ford Explorer EV, got a TCU historical / latched code for sos e-call and can’t get into the module to clear out the code. TCU is working fine just got a code that needs clearing out to remove the amber warning symbol but Carista can’t do it.

Works Well (2014 Audi A3)
I was a bit dubious after reading the mixed reviews but can confirm it works for my 2014 Audi A3 without issues. Recoded my new battery quickly, disables stop/start on ignition and triggers DPF regen on command. Haven’t tried all the features as I’m not sure if they’d affect my insurance or warranty, but I’ve no reason to doubt they would work properly.
My only gripe is that the app is bit of a battery sapper, my phone dropped about 15% in around 10-15 minutes. But other than that I’d say it’s worth the £42 for a year just for what I’ve got out of it so far.

Locks features to force you to buy their device
This app lock certain features available on other free obd scanning apps. It keeps promoting to buy its evo pro device and doesn't allow you but to see live car data. It doesn't even reset faults other obd apps reset. I cannot cancel subscription and i cannot use it before subscribing !! There should be a trial period !! Absolutely scammed by this app and apple support their business that doesn't allow you to cancel subscription!!

Rubbish
Very difficult to connect when it connects doesn’t give correct information
Was working, purchased a year now its not.
I have a veepeak bluetooth scanner tool. Carista used to work with it. Carista must have done an update that rendered my scanner useless. Regardless they got the money for the hear long subscription. Not happy. No recourse except loss of money. Unreal. How is this legal.
Money grab
Wasn’t satisfied with the app and options. They force you to buy a subscription to use addtl. features, otherwise it’s a $10 scan tool. Feels like a scam tool.
Bait and switch, predatory developer
This program is not compatible with other devices. Don’t buy the app or subscription. Don’t waste your time on a product.
Thieves
Years ago bought the obd2 dongle and now it doesn’t support with the updates on the app. You have to pay more to be able to use it. This is a crooked business strategy. Shame on you.
Skoda customisation
Still no Skoda customisation menus years subscription was a waste of my money

It’s amazing but…
Carista is amazing, i’ve had it for ages and it does everything it says it does. Now this is no fault of carista but i just want SFD2 unlock, maybe some more info or timescale. I currently have a 2024 Seat Arona FR and i can’t do anything with the scanner which is the only problem other than that genuinely best thing you can buy for your car
