waste of time

This app claims that they can read your data from PDF files however they only get a small fraction of the data effectively retrieved. And even then they miss the unit of measure up you get panic notifications about metric out of wack but just the unit of measure were wrong . These are not the droids you are looking for.

Response from developer

We are sorry the PDF import missed data and got the units wrong, which led to misleading alerts. Please contact us through the app with your report so we can fix your case and improve parsing.

Excellent

Thank you for responding to my comment about number of entries. I’ve changed my review:

Update:
Superb way to track my blood test results. Thank you.

It is a little expensive for someone like me who only gets a single blood test per year. Having said that, the free version works perfectly for my purposes. Does it back up my data to iCloud?

Worse than useless

The AI feature does not work—it imports the reference range instead of the test value. The CSV feature doesn’t work. You upload a .csv in the exact format provided by the app and sometimes it enters the results according to the date in the .csv and other times it enters all results as if they are as of today. There is no ability to back out incorrect entries, so the three hours of time I spent manually inputting values was all undone by attempting to use the .csv feature.

I cannot believe I signed up for an annual subscription to use these “premium” features. Wish I could get my money back.

Frustrating

This has the makings of a great app and I really wanted this to work. Unfortunately, however, I soon realised that it only reads up to 500 data points from Apple Health. This means it’s not recording my current glucose readings. What a let down :-(
Also, I spent a lot of time entering my data. When I exported it, it only exported the most recent date.

Also I think it is a little expensive. Perhaps a cheaper option that just lets you enter the readings by hand which is what I did. I get one or two blood tests per year.

Mostly works well

I like this app because you can take lab results from multiple sources and consolidate them into one location, and track your data over time. The AI used to read lab reports isn’t perfect, but it gets 95% of the results correct. There is manual cross, checking and adjusting of units require required occasion.

Terrible

Lots of manual work but still a total inability to recognize units. No real trial period to discover this-do pay for this app. You’d be better off using a spreadsheet.

Domain Network Errors

Unable to start app as it cannot connect to Polaris.carrotcare.health due to domain not registered. Will update review when problem resolved.

Great concept, doesn't work

I really really wanted to like this app but man oh man, what up bunch of problems. I uploaded a PDF from a European blood test and for the life of me I could not get the values that it was using straightened out. A number of the metrics had reference ranges that didn't seem to correspond to any unit of measurement I could agree on. Worse, when I did finally get one of the metrics right, the reference range was not correct according to whatever research I was able to do. I finally just gave up in frustration. Too bad because this could be a great app if it worked.

Response from developer

Hello! We’re here to help at contact@carrotcare.health! In the premium version we can recognise and decode everything without any extra manual steps from you. In the basic version we only support English. We will strive to improve our guidance in the app so it’s clear what languages etc are supported and how everything is expected to work.

Custom Ranges

It keeps changing my custom ranges which makes it useless to me.

Not worth the frustration

First of all, I have a lot of blood work done. I tried taking pictures of my lab work, I tried the uploading a PDF, and everything was wrong both times. This leaves me entering data manually which is unrealistic for me. I don’t have that much time. Plus, you’re left trying to figure out what’s what. My lab results will list WBC, RBC, HGB, etc… but in the app it will be listed as the actual name (white blood count, red blood count, etc…) So I just spent $80 for an app that I’ll never use. This is why I HATE paying for apps. They never deliver like they say they will.

Response from developer

Hello! In the premium version we upload all results without you having to do all the work — just use options marked as premium on the add screen. If you still prefer to have results entered manually you should be able to type WBC, RBC etc as the app understands synonyms. For the payment you can also request the full refund — happy to help with that on our contact email.

Great app but i wont pay a monthly subscription for it

Do a one time purchase for 80$ and i will do it. Great app otherwise

Horrible app!

Not worth $79.99!!!

If it cannot store my data, what use is it? Also, I spent a lot of time entering my data. When I exported it, it only exported the most recent date.

Not there yet

I have uploaded multiple PDFs and the same results in screenshot form hoping for better results. At this point, the identification is so bad it’s unusable. It needs to automatically identify the collection date as stated on every results file. Currently it needs to be manually entered and if you forget every single result needs to be manually changed to show the date. Obviously it’s useless for tracking health to upload past labs and have them all marked as today’s date. Second, the ranges aren’t getting imported, so you can’t see where your results are according to the lab. Third, it’s importing a lot of items either as duplicates or just without any number at all meaning you have to manually enter each one. Some of my labs are being imported with thirty items for me to manually enter and then it seems to require me to re-add the date for each for each one. So the app can’t help me, I’d be better off just making. My own spreadsheet at this point

Hello! We’re constantly improving our OCR functionality and if you could contact us with more information on what lab you use so we can make adjustments to the import goes flawlessly? Hope we can fix things for you here!

Pretty good so far

Not a bad little app. Seems to be in its early stages of growth so there are some minor hiccups but hopefully the developers are improving it as they go. Entered health data is presented in a clean, easy to follow graphical format and it’s helpful to be able to look at various entered lab reports in one central location. It will be great if more integration with Apple Health coming. I’ll keep my eye on updates and will consider paying for a premium level if the app continues to stick around and slowly improves.

Love the app, unsure of the limitations

I can trend my labs on my phone, love that. However I didn’t knew there was a premium version and after adding a few labs it doesn’t let me continue without an upgrade so I wonder how many labs can be added daily?

Response from developer

Hello, you should be able to add as many data points as you want although up to 20 distinct biomarkers. If this is causing any issues please reach out at contact@carrotcare.health

Different Profiles for Parent-Child-Grandparent Monitoring

Recently downloaded the application and looking forward to finalizing the email uploads of all my archived blood tests, so far the reviews and what im seeing on the application is amazing! If you might let me make one slight suggestion, having the ability to host multiple profiles on the app, as a caretaker, would be making this app complete (a profile for me, for each of my kids, for my mother, etc…)!! This would allow me to keep track of everyone’s blood test results in their own profile and make my life so much easier!

Been Careful when you open the app!

Just Open the app, and automatically asked me double tap side button and charged me yearly subscription! Don’t fall into the trap.
