What's New in Casserole

1.2.1

October 2, 2026

Friends without an iPhone can help now too. • Put a friend's name down for any meal. If someone texts you instead of using the app, add them in a tap, and fix or remove the sign-up later. • Send the meals that are still open as a simple text, for any group chat. • The invitation now says plainly that the link opens on iPhone and iPad, and tells everyone else how to sign up. • Questions or a problem? You can now reach us from inside the app. • Planning one potluck instead? Casserole now points you to Tablescape, our app made for that.

User reviews

Link not working for non Apple contributors!

I have no idea how to reach out to the developers and the people that want to help can’t get in the calendar if they have Android 🤷🏽‍♀️
I’m upset I paid for this and can’t really use it

Response from developer

You're right, and I'm sorry. Today, helpers need an iPhone or iPad, and I'm sorry we didn't make that clear enough before. Based on your feedback I'm looking into what can be done since the intention was to maintain things as private as possible which is what led to using iOS with iCloud for this vs a database. In the immediate I'm going to build a way for you to sign someone up for the meal train, and a way to share the open slots via text. After that, I'm going to try to find a way to handle allowing users to turn on a method for external helpers who aren't on iOS. If you'd like a refund, you can request one through apple and we'll understand. You can always reach us at support@zossoz.com to discuss more though.

FAQ

How do I set up a meal train with Casserole?

Setting up a meal train in Casserole is designed to be quick, taking about five minutes. You'll input details about who the meals are for, the dates meals are needed, and any specific instructions or dietary notes. The app then generates a single link to share with helpers.

Is Casserole free to use for everyone?

Casserole is free to download and use for anyone who is helping with a meal train, claiming a meal, or checking the schedule. The organizer, however, has a one-time purchase to enable them to set up and manage the meal trains.

What devices does Casserole support?

Casserole runs on both iPhone and iPad. Helpers can also sign up from an iPhone or iPad. Friends without these devices can communicate their meal contributions via text to the organizer, who can then add them to the calendar.

How does Casserole handle privacy?

Casserole is designed with privacy in mind. It does not require accounts or use external servers. All meal train data is stored within the organizer's iCloud and is only shared with individuals who receive the event link.

Can I organize multiple meal trains at once?

Yes, you can run more than one meal train simultaneously. The app allows you to easily switch between different meal trains with a single tap, making it convenient to manage support for multiple individuals or families.

What happens if I forget to bring a meal?

Helpers receive a reminder the evening before their scheduled meal day. This helps ensure that no meal contributions are forgotten, and the household receives consistent support throughout the designated period.

Does Casserole offer dish suggestions?

On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, Casserole can provide dish suggestions that take into account the household's dietary notes. This feature helps helpers choose meals that are appropriate and welcomed by the recipient.

How often is Casserole updated?

The latest version of Casserole is 1.2.1, and it was last updated on October 2, 2026. While specific update frequency isn't detailed, this indicates ongoing development and support for the application.
