Amazing for sports
Great app
New format = less news
The new video/picture based format makes it harder to find news articles of interest. Forces more scrolling and searching. A headline photo or two with top news stories listed underneath is much more efficient and enjoyable. This use to be my favorite sports app, but now using other more now.

I echo many of the recent reviews. Not here for another social media scroll… and I definitely don’t care what some CBS pundit I’ve never seen before has to say. I want articles and scores. Keep it simple….
New UI = Yuck!
This was my number 1 sports news app prior to the latest UI update. Not a fan of the social media, video tiles. Bring back a simple listing of the current news articles, please!

Was great before latest update
I guess if you are 15 years old the latest UI could be appealing. Some of us are older and don’t care to scroll through a bunch of big faces to search for something interesting to read. This used to be an everyday app for me. Now it looks like a lot of heat and no meat.

New UI is terrible
I’ve used this app for years, very loyally. It always improved each time they updated the UI.
NOT THIS TIME! It’s truly horrible. Scrolling forever with massive images of cbs sports employee faces taking up my entire phone. Gone are easy-to-browse headlines. Now it’s just massive faces, images, video links (with ads) and eternal scrolling.
And so for the first time in I don’t know how many years, I’m looking to move on. Sad, really, because their box scores are the best.

New Layout Sucks!!!
The new layout on the iPad app, that came out in July 2026… sucks!! Absolutely hate it!
Not a die-hard
I am a fan of the CBS app and the notifications that I receive. Most of the time, I feel like I am learning something new. I could lose about 25% of the notifications and be even happier. A little less “content” and a little more quality would be great.
AMAZING
It’s great in every pro sports league except WNBA. There’s lots of weird things with the expansion franchises like you can’t see the Valkyries tweets or the Fire and Tempo’s stats. And i’m assuming this will end up happening for any pro league that expands, people like seeing stats and tweets and stuff so just fix that. I would also say you need to add more NCAA sports to the app as well because that might make people more interested in different sports. Plus the new update is incredible. Otherwise amazing app. It was my first sports app i’ve ever downloaded! Great work developers of CBS Sports!!!👏👏👏👏

App freezes
The app freezes about once a day when it loads. Annoying to have to swipe it away & try again.
Awful changes
CBS you’ve lost your way. This used to be the best app for quick access to scores and articles. Now your home page is an awful attempt at being a social media site. There’s no way I want another app full of AI slop like you’re now forcing on us.
Great, but one annoyance
Site is terrific and reasonably priced. Has most all the features you could want. The one annoying thing that I wish they would address are the summaries where an algorithm praises or pans teams based on players who aren’t even playing. Today I got praised for my brilliance in starting a player over a different player (who has been on the IL for at least two months and has no timeline for returning). Yay me :/

Too much
I’m constantly being asked to provide a review every time I open the app
Xfinity
I pay for CBS through Xfinity. I cannot stream outside of my house and that is not right. If I pay for the channel I should be able to access it at any time. What am I even paying for!?
Trash
This app became trash overnight. Nothing but ads and videos. There is a large portion of the population who still has attention spans longer than 15 seconds who would rather read the news than listen to some blowhard tell us (yell at us) about what’s going on.

It’s fun to watch games on here umm yeah it’s good but developers pls respond to me I just think it’s cool lol

The new update makes the app look like social media, not an app that actually has articles with sports stories along with the scores
