App consistently tries to force you to buy features. Then once you try to say โnoโ the UI doesnโt accept that for an answer.
Promising Potential, Bad UX
I use Chap Premium, and I really wanted to like it. Our family setup is pretty common: parents use iPhones, and the kids share a Samsung Galaxy Tab, each with their own profile. From what I understand, the ideal flow should be simpleโฆ parents install the app, set up the family, and create kid accounts. But thatโs not what happens. You must not assume every kid in a family will have a phone, or access to parentsโ devices to access their accounts.
The actual setup process is confusing and unintuitive. Inviting users feels clunky, setting up the family structure is unclear, and thereโs very little guidance during key parts of the onboarding. And this is coming from someone who works in UI/UX design, so I can only imagine how much harder it would be for a non-technical parent.
Chap has a great concept, and I appreciate the focus on safety and privacy. But the user experience needs serious improvement, especially for families with mixed devices and shared tablets. Hoping to see updates soon that make the setup process match the simplicity that parents expect.

Pay to access key features
Having to pay for chore rotation makes the app redundant. With so many paid subscriptions out there why would we pay for this too. Non paid version of this app is pretty pointless.

Love the features. Being such a great app, it misses out on one key feature - lack of widgets. This addition will make it perfect.

Has the potential
Has the potential to be good but the chores need to count from when you do them last. I was late one day for vacuuming. I have it set up for every 3 days but now because I was late itโs telling me I have to do it again in 2 days instead of the regular 3 day spacing.

Itโs pricy and there alternative apps that can do just the same function as this one. NOT WORTH THE PURCHASE.

Iโm writing this to warn about a sneaky Bait-and-Switch tactic used by this developer. I was conned by their in-app offer of โLifetime Full access for freeโ - but when I accepted the offer, it instantly switched to taking a payment of ยฃ119.99 from my bank account! I had to go through the rigmarole of requesting a refund via Appleโs Report a Problem page, and then waiting to see if they would agree to refund my money. Fortunately, they did.

Unhappy with download process

I tapped on the Lifetime Subscription for free and then found I have been charged $199. Not good salesman ship. Please organise a full refund.

Wanted to try
I downloaded this via AppAdvice due to the โlifetime $0.00โ offer, but that offer was not available for selection once I completed the onboarding. Iโve uninstalled the app. Too bad It was a bogus offering.
Cannot create account
This app is unusable because an account is required, and trying to create one produces only errors. Creating an account via Apple ID fails upon FaceID verification, and when trying to create one manually, it rejects every password tried, even when one is deliberately crafted to meet the stated requirements. This lack of basic functionality is completely unacceptable. Ordinarily, I would start with contacting support rather than posting a negative review over bugs, but this bug is so egregious that it deserves to be called out publicly.

Keep trying to sign up with Apple account. Get โError: the operation could not be completed. (Com.apple-Authentication-Services.AuthorizationError error 1001.).
