Hiding behind a subscription
Response from developer
Thanks for the feedback, and for making Cheat Day your go-to over the years. Restaurant websites work well for checking one menu, but Cheat Day is the only app that lets you compare and sort foods across restaurants and grocery stores in one place. Building and maintaining that takes ongoing development and design work, which the subscription supports. In the past few weeks alone we've shipped over 10 updates, including a Healthify button that suggests healthier swaps, best picks for each restaurant category, a new category filter, and more accurate health scores. We also keep it affordable, with a 30-day free trial instead of the usual 3 days and an annual plan under $2 a month, the lowest price we've seen. We hope you'll give it another try.
Can only use it if you pay/subscribe.
After finding out this app was free for 7 YEARS only to require payment now due to adding AI and such makes no sense. Why make it a calorie tracker/AI food scanner/etc, When it was a great idea on its own to make it a fast food/restaurant menu checker only??? At least make the AI features/etc a premium-only feature whilst having a free version that includes what the app provided before the subscription update.
Companies now just get greedy and ruin perfectly fine apps to hop on certain trends. Very upsetting.

Cheat Day has been free for the past 7 years, and we’re very grateful for your support. Unfortunately, the AI boom has significantly increased server costs, and inflation has made those expenses even harder to absorb, so we’ve had to move to a subscription model. Thank you for being part of this journey.
