Paid $20 for an app that won’t even load. What a joke!

I got this app because I struggle with understanding school work it let me have 1 question and made me pay too view the whole answer it gave me and the stuff it gave me was incorrect after the 1 question it said that I have too buy a stupid subscription that was at least $70 I week heck no im not doing that total waist of time Do Not Get This App!!!!! 😠

Don’t waste your money!!!
I haven’t used Chegg in a while and just got a new subscription because I needed help with organic chemistry. The membership is $20 a month. They got rid of the ask an expert feature so now it is all terrible AI. The AI cannot answer any questions. There was no notice that they got rid of the ask an expert feature. When I brought this up with the support team, they told me that there was no possible way to get a refund. So now I, a broke college student, just wasted $20 to get no answer and scammed.

Could never log in
No matter how many times I have tried, I could never get past the password stage. It would access the server to verify my email address then hang for eternity. I decided to delete the app for good, especially after Chegg dropped the Flashcard.
Unhelpful AI Replaces “Experts”
For over $20 a month you now can’t even ask questions, you have to hope the AI can find the question already in their database and if they don’t have it they’ll still show you “similar” questions, you’re supposed to thumbs it down and hopefully they’ll have the expert you’re paying for reach out to help. Waste of time and money, there are tons of other AIs out there, I came here for human help, not more nonsense. Now I’m just annoyed I let my subscription go on this long because I always forget to cancel it between semesters.

One of the worst things I’ve ever paid for
I’ve gone back and forth for a few years while in school paying for Chegg. Especially recently it feels like such a waste of money. You send in questions that never get answered, user interface is horrible, and recently they’ve been trying to charge me for a subscription that I have canceled long ago. I wouldn’t recommend Chegg to anybody it’s extremely overpriced and doesn’t even help

Was advertised with so many features like flash cards and practice tests which is really what I needed but nothing was there except taking pictures of ur work and gen then they only gave answers which doesn’t really help so it’s really bad if ur planning on using it for answers go for it but I only gives u similar answers now so it doesn’t even help with that. They got rid of the ask an expert feature which is the only reason anyone got this app.

Replaced Helpful Expert Questions With a Horrible AI
I used to go to Chegg for their useful “Send your question to an expert” feature, however they removed this and i promptly canceled my subscription. Their AI can’t understand the complex questions I need help with and either answers incorrectly, or simply says it can’t answer my question. Chegg used to be amazing, but now it’s just another AI slop application.

Chegg used to be a staple throughout my college years, helping me when even my professors couldn’t. After some time away, I came back only to find that the platform has completely changed—and not for the better.
AI has taken over, and the expert help that made Chegg valuable is essentially gone. You can no longer submit images of your questions, which was one of the most useful features. If your exact question isn’t already in Chegg’s system, you’re basically out of luck—and even the AI often falls short.
I’m currently taking biochemistry, and every time I tried to get help, I kept hitting dead ends. I couldn’t understand why my images wouldn’t upload, only to find out (after calling customer service) that the feature had been removed entirely. That was incredibly frustrating, especially when my professor wasn’t available and I needed real support.
Chegg used to feel like a hidden gem, but now it just feels like another generic AI platform. In trying to keep up with trends, they’ve lost what actually made them useful—real human help. Students and experts alike deserved better than this shift, especially at $20 a month.
I cancelled my subscription immediately.

Horrible Ai update
Chemistry student here, i signed up for this app because it used to help me with specific problems that an “expert” could help me with. welp no more ! now due to the new update this horrible app decided to do, everything is checked by ai and has to be ran by the ai first. So no more can you do homework and ask for help, the app no longer can do that for you since they have implemented this stupid ai program. what was once a decent app for helping me learn chemistry is now one of the biggest rip offs i’ve ever come across. If i wanted ai help i would go some where better. this app truly sucks now.

Fine but won’t work on the first try
If you try to take a picture, it’ll take one and freeze for about ten seconds. Then you’ll take the picture again and it works fine. Apart from this it’s a good app but it is very annoying when I’m curious and have to do a little minigame to get an answer.
Waste of money
When I go to take a picture of the question no matter how clear the picture is it’ll say “To try and fix this try retaking the picture”.

Subscribed and got Banned!!
I literally subscribed to this subscription and it didn’t load up the answers. I tried exiting and entering the app as a refresher and got my account banned for “unusual activity.” I did not get the services of I payed for and got suspended instead. I want a refund.
If I could give zero stars
Chegg used to be my go to but now that they’ve taken away the expert tab and replaced it with ai, it’s seriously trash. This is my first time even writing a review for an app. I’ll be canceling my subscription. If I wanted ai I would use chat gbt rather than pay a bunch of money for it. Restructuring was probably the worst thing they could have done. Now they have experts to “review the ai responses.” 0/5 stars from me.
