Online ordering is pointless
The app is completely misleading. It told me my order would be ready in 9 minutes, so I placed it and drove to the restaurant. Instead, I ended up waiting for over 30 minutes with no updates and no explanation.
If the real wait time is 30–40 minutes, just say that. Don’t show fake estimates that waste people’s time. The only reason I ordered through the app was to save time, but it actually took longer than ordering in person.
An online ordering app should provide accurate wait times. Right now, it’s setting customers up for frustration.

No drink option on combos
Downloaded the app, went to make the first order, no option to get a drink in place of a side. Close the app, go order at the restaurant. Was excited to get the app but too basic of an order option to be missing. Will stick with drive thru ordering.

The app is easy to use. The only things they could add is a search bar and a rewards/specials section.
The app itself
The app looks like it was designed in 30 minutes. There isn’t a place to report missing items, there isn’t a place to look exclusively at old orders and totals, there is poor quality with loading the app. I just lost $6 on rolls that didn’t show up with no way of getting a refund. The app sucks.

Impeccable Service
They answer their phone / the APP has 2 things wrong. I place order using APP then Call - tell them my changes and my Drive Thru order is Perfect! This location is better than Chick Fil A
Jacked up prices
I picked up my order but the prices were inflated by more than 10%! That's crazy for just using the app to place the order from the parking lot. Buyer beware!!

I love Chicken Express and when I had seen that they offer an app I got excited about the savings that it had in store HOWEVER this is just a copy and paste of the door dash chicken Express page and it saddens me I believe if there was a point system for loyal frequent customers this would a amazing app worth 5 stars because that’s what the food and especially the sweet tea is worth please consider doing this for us chicken express fans who stop by constantly and just want to save money

Chicken strip
I was a bit disappointed. I had been wanting to try CE as there is now one fairly close to me. I tried this on a road trip returning from Denver, we stopped in Plainview. I wanted something that was not too heavy as we were driving quite a distance. I asked what was smallest order and was told it was the kids meal of a chicken strip. It was very dry. I don’t care for gravy and would have preferred ranch dip but it was not offered. The French fries were good. Now back at home in San Antonio, I’m looking at the menu and I would have probably chosen a one piece regular fried chicken, which looked good from what I saw others were eating. I forgot to add that I was charged extra for not using cash. I didn’t see this policy posted anywhere in the restaurant.
