Love app - but major problems with this update
Response from developer
Both apps you wrote about have been rebuilt since this review. Update Choiceworks to 18.2 and Choiceworks Calendar to 10.2 and you will be on the strongest versions we have ever shipped: the crashes are fixed, backup and sync are in, and both apps have had months of stability work. Try them. I think you will be happy. If anything still falls short, email me directly at info@beevisual.com and I will handle it personally. And if the new versions earn it, please revisit this review. The star you leave decides whether other families find us. Michele, Bee Visual
Nice effort
Oh, well, even after reinstall now the task doesn't do anything besides repeat the sound. So I guess we need to find a new calendar for my daughter. We had big trauma recently and she could really benefit from the calendar working... wish it did. I saw a review from 12 years ago! Incredible run for a small platform like this. Sad to stop using it. Thanks for your help for as long as it lasted

Thank you for this. You took the time to tell me exactly what broke, and that helps more than you know. First, I'm sorry. Tasks not sliding to finished, and the calendar showing the wrong day, that was a real bug, and I hate that it landed while your family was already carrying so much. The newest update fixes the completion problem, so tasks check off and the date stays right again. If you're willing to give it one more try, I'd be grateful, and I think your daughter will feel the difference. I'm also sorry about the photos. Losing your own images on a reinstall is awful, and improving how the app backs up and restores is exactly what I'm focused on now. I'm one mom who built this for my own son, and I still read every word. Whatever you decide, thank you for trusting it with your daughter for as long as you did. The door stays open anytime you want to come back. Michele
No support
Response from developer
Thank you for this, and I am so sorry. Your son loved this app and used it every day, and then an update filled it with bugs and took that away from him. That is the exact thing I never want to happen, and it lands hard, because I built this for my own son. You deserved real support, and I am sorry you could not reach a person. I read every review and I answer the support emails myself. There is a mom on the other end of this, not a company. Here is the honest part: the version that broke things, 7.0, is not the current one anymore. The newest update fixes those bugs and brings back what your son relied on. If you update and give it one more try, I truly think you will feel the difference, and if anything is still off, reach me directly and I will help you myself. Whatever you decide, thank you for trusting it with your son for as long as you did. The door stays open. Michele
So helpful!
I have used this with my own children and students with Autism as well. A very handy and versatile app.
-You can record your voice and add your own pictures to make calendar entries
-Easy viewing- toggle back and forth from day, week or month views. In the ‘Day’ view you can drag items from the ‘To Do’ to ‘Done’ and a green checkmark will appear over the calendar entry to show it has been completed.
-very audible alarm (my hearing-impaired dad can hear it!)
-make one-time or reoccurring calendar events
Needs bigger day font

Thank you, this is a great note, and you are right. We already let images enlarge in ChoiceWorks, and I want to do the same for the month and date type here, only better, an adjustable size families can set as large as they need. Readability is the whole point, so yes, this is coming. A "tomorrow" button next to "today" is a lovely idea too. I really like what it teaches. Two days at a time is exactly how a lot of kids ease into a calendar, so I am looking hard at how to add it simply, without cluttering the screen. I read every review myself, so thank you for taking the time. It genuinely helps me make this better. Michele
