Just got the cigar oasis excel up and running. Wanted to use the app, to monitor temps, and humidity from my phone, an upgrade from the previous model that kicked the bucket on me.
Well the app doesn’t work. There is so many hoops to jump through to get it to connect, and then when you try to connect it using the Cigar oasis WiFi network that the device provides it just came up an ! flashing on the device. It quit putting out the WiFi network and the instructions for when this happens says to cancel out everything and try to reconnect it. But that doesn’t work, because it won’t put out the network to connect it to. It won’t connect to my home WiFi network because it doesn’t have the security the app wants. So I’m at a loss with it. The only thing I’m now gaining is the larger water tank compared to the previous model. So longer time between refills is what I’m expecting. This thing isn’t cheap, and to not be able to use all the perks, that’s paid for to enjoy, is a partial false advertisement. The app needs to be reworked so there’s no hoops. It should just connect to your home device instantly, and begin working. I had to go through like 20 hoops to get to the end, and all just to reach a point of it not connecting properly, and not working anyways. You guys need to do better. There shouldn’t be a subscription either you pay so much for the unit itself, it’s just another money grab.

Nice try
App is down more than it’s up. Constantly have issues with no devices found or app that can’t login. Fix it or refund the money. Not at all reliable.
Garbage
This app is a complete waste of time. Will not connect in any way shape or form. They apparently expected it to fail as it has instructions as to what to do if nothing works in the app. It still doesn’t work. I’m deleting it.
Typing in all network info?
Seriously a huge PITA to connect. Whomever developed this app must be programming for 2005 apps. So hard to connect. I deleted since I think you need to pay in addition to paying hundreds for their humidifier that will stop working after 9 months anyway. This is my third one

The device itself is good but this app/wifi connection is straight garbage. Not sure how you can make such great products and can’t get someone to fix your WiFi issue. Huge company and nobody can fix this one problem????

Forget the App
This app is poorly developed … maybe for Android phones. There is a reason the app struggles to achieve even 2-stars. Then Cigar Oasis has the audacity to press for a recurring subscription fee. 🤨 Cigar Oasis should solicit help from cigar enthusiasts in tech centers.

App shows a notification but that tab under accounts does not work. Got some weird messages yesterday.
Ok for bare observation.
It would be nice to calibrate the oasis with the app so I don’t need to open the humidor.
Needs a major adjustment in the firmware and App
Overall the unit works well and keeps the humidor in the proper humidity zone and keeps that consistent. However, the major issue is that the unit itself generates a small amount of heat in the operation of the fan unit. This skews the temperature readings and is off by +3 degrees. The firmware and the app should allow for the compensation of the fan heat generation and allow the user to manually adjust the temperature readings in the application to allow for the difference between the actual temperature in the humidor and the temperature the internal thermometer reads. Please add this function and then you can justify the cost of the annual subscription service. Otherwise your cost should only be $10.00 per year for simple humidity monitoring.

Needs Significant Improvement
App is poorly designed and lacks upfront instructions to add a unit. The app’s UI for adding devices is clunky and the steps are unclear until you find the step-by-step instructions. Humidifying unit is slow to share data via WiFi and update itself when changes are made within the app.
Displaying of devices once connected is hit or miss with some devices not showing up.
Overall a very poor experience and half baked app. Needs many more layers to make this user friendly and significant improvement for the device to speak to the app via WiFi

Stupid design
Where you need to enter the name for the device, nothing indicates what you need to enter. If you cancel, the device hangs. From here you can’t connect to WiFi, unless you reset it. No pages or manual describe the process how to do this. Assuming you figure out yourself, and come across a video on YouTube how to setup the device where they say the last step is the name, then you need to activate the device. The device is lost, I can’t see it again, hopefully after activation on there I’ll be able to see it again. If my assumption is correct, Would not it be self explanatory to list the device in pending status instead of hiding it? Anyway, the subscription started fine, so they took the money but I can’t use the device. Just poor implementation

Unreliable
App crashes frequently, notifications about humidity or temperature never seem to come. The device itself (I have the magna 3.0) is loud but functional. Sadly the app side of it is a big let down and despite paying for this subscription I find myself relying on a govee device to monitor humidity and temperature.

App continuously crashes when trying to add device.
Simply does not work
Went through the whole process from an online video because the humidor came with terrible instructions. Connected the humidor then disappeared from the app. This app really needs to be updated.

I’ve worked in tech for 15 years. Anyone who believes that 2.4ghz wifi is obsolete needs a serious reeducation and perhaps a life coach. Seems like a bunch of tired old men with nothing better to do. This app keeps me informed while I travel. Occasionally experiences minor outages. Sure the UI could use an update but for an optional feature and With 4 humidors and over 1600 cigars in my personal Collection there’s no products or services i trust more. With a decades worth of acquisitions in my humidors.

Archaic app with zero functionality
This app is archaic in every way. The interface, the features and the functionality are all redundant. The developers expect a subscription payment against the use of this app which does nothing but allow you to monitor the temp and RH of your device which you buy off them.
Complete scam
This app has got to be a complete scam. Its UI is firmly set in the 1990s. The connection method is atrocious. The alarms and set points do not work. Run away and don’t use cigar oasis. They used to be a great brand and now they are total trash
