Not consistent & slow
However, you have to pay for the service if you want to track landings. It’s included in jet stream but if you happen to have two or more aircraft you have to pay for each.
Real conditions are not taken into account. For example, wind and gust factors affect your approaches in the real world but not for your score on cirrus IQ. Apparently they are working on adjusting the approach score to account for METAR gust factors. But haven’t yet. How hard can it be to add a gust factor to target airspeed?
But my biggest issue is that the app is slow and does not grab all landings. It can take days for a landing to be scored and updated in the app. Sometimes they don’t appear at all.
Garmin & Foreflight have way more comprehensive flight scoring tech and don’t seem to have the same missing data issues and load super quickly.
As a premium product seller, Cirrus, i would think this would be way better.
Stabilized approaches
Won’t connect
Not 2025 for much longer
Good idea
I also like that you can analyze your landings. Really good idea, although it doesn’t seem to take account of weather conditions nor varying W&B in the plane.
But great idea.
BUT the app / sync process is painfully slow. As in dial-up modem slow.
Inspections and Trips
Response from developer
Thanks for the feedback - version 3.2.1 has addressed the issue of the persistent 25 hour inspection. You may "Deactivate" an inspection that is no longer relevant. Receiving trip data is dependent upon the module getting connected to a cellular network and being able to offload all the data. Please see the IQ FAQs here to learn more about the system limitations - https://cirrusaircraft.com/cirrus-iq-faq/
A couple things
The inspections page is useful but please remove the 25 hour inspection. It is used ONCE during break in. It does not need a reminder.
I don’t know how to program, but I do know that when an app update is done, I find it annoying to look up my log in info.
If there is a plan to somehow monetize this app in the future, please limit it to the utilization area where the people who need shiny things to look at are willing to pay.

Pilot
Response from developer
Cirrus IQ is a smart system that shuts down when a certain battery threshold is reached. Further battery drain comes from the keyless entry system, similar to automobiles that sit for a long time without being driven. Cirrus IQ only sends data after shutting down from a flight, or when a user requests a Remote Sync - data is not sent any other time. Please see the IQ FAQs here to learn more about the system limitations - https://cirrusaircraft.com/cirrus-iq-faq/
No longer syncs
Response from developer
Thanks for the feedback - version 3.2.1 has addressed the issue of the persistent inspections. You may "Deactivate" an inspection that is no longer relevant. Sync functionality has been addressed in recent updates and hopefully you have updated to the latest version. Great Companion to the Plane
Wow - BIG IMPROVEMENT
It’s 2025. Cirrus should expect more
The entire digital experience, seems more focused on maintaining brand aesthetics than delivering practical, reliable features. not what you expect from a brand synonymous with cutting-edge aviation.
Noone assumes or expects Cirrus to be building these digital experiences in house. There are countless vendors who could deliver a superior user experience, yet Cirrus appears to be settling for subpar solutions and partners. Whoever is responsible for choosing and managing these tech partnerships is missing the mark.
Cirrus leads the way in aircraft innovation, but their digital tech desperately needs to catch up. I hope they take a more strategic approach to their digital platforms and prioritize usability over aesthetics moving forward.
All new - totally different
Latest update is not good
1. Scoring landings or recording CAS alerts is probably not the right focus for the app; as Cirrus pilots we get all that and way more from FlySto. Cirrus is unlikely to ever do better job at this than FlySto so introducing features that are already available at FlySto is basically pointless. If you want to pursue that direction, then consider integrating with FlySto rather than replicating some of its features. For example, I’d like that all flights get automatically uploaded to FlySto without having to pull the SD card. That is something I’d be willing to pay a subscription for, not the current feature set.
2. As a Cirrus owner, the only things I want from this app is to give me accurate airplane status (fuel, oxygen, TKS etc), keep track of maintenance events and getting help from CSC or field service. Everything else is superfluous. Sadly, the app today doesn’t do very good job reporting status. On many occasions the data does not reflect reality. For example, my plane is in KDLH right now, I know it was topped off, and was power cycled an run, and yet the app still shows fuel status from prior shutdown.
3. In terms of information design, the current update is a regression from previous version. There’s no reason to have Aircraft Menu that shows 4 options; all those could be displayed in the Tab bar at the bottom.
4. Utilization section is not useful and I’m genuinely curious if anyone from Cirrus actually tried to even use it. It breaks in the most basic scenarios, for example - tap on a flight, select the pilot for the the flight, then see the “Pilot updated successfully” overlay - this is crazy - you don’t need such an overlay, nobody does these kind of overlays in modern apps; especially ones which you need to explicitly dismiss by tapping the X button. This indicates to me that whoever worked on that part literally didn’t know what they were doing, and didn’t even do basic usability testing on this.
Overall, very disappointing.
