Not consistent & slow

Nice concept and looks great. Cirrus is really pushing this as part of its safety culture.

However, you have to pay for the service if you want to track landings. It’s included in jet stream but if you happen to have two or more aircraft you have to pay for each.

Real conditions are not taken into account. For example, wind and gust factors affect your approaches in the real world but not for your score on cirrus IQ. Apparently they are working on adjusting the approach score to account for METAR gust factors. But haven’t yet. How hard can it be to add a gust factor to target airspeed?

But my biggest issue is that the app is slow and does not grab all landings. It can take days for a landing to be scored and updated in the app. Sometimes they don’t appear at all.
Garmin & Foreflight have way more comprehensive flight scoring tech and don’t seem to have the same missing data issues and load super quickly.

As a premium product seller, Cirrus, i would think this would be way better.

Stabilized approaches

I like how it grades your landing based on stabilized approach criteria. It gives you an incentive to try to score 100% for landings though sometime operational needs (i.e. short approaches) ruin your score. I like that it makes you think of stabilized approaches by setting standards. I haven’t yet used the maintenance functions but I like checking how much fuel I have on board without being near the plane.

Won’t connect

More than 50% of the time it won’t connect

Not 2025 for much longer

Ignore the top negative review. Cirrus IQ is great for the Vision Jet.

Good idea

I like the app concept. Being able to check fluids (ie fuel) from afar and save time in the truck roll is great.
I also like that you can analyze your landings. Really good idea, although it doesn’t seem to take account of weather conditions nor varying W&B in the plane.
But great idea.

BUT the app / sync process is painfully slow. As in dial-up modem slow.

Inspections and Trips

Love the app but the 25 hour inspection is a one time affair. Even if not, it should be coordinated with the 50 hour inspection. Lastly, not all trips seem to be recorded. There should be a way to manually enter a trip and time.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback - version 3.2.1 has addressed the issue of the persistent 25 hour inspection. You may "Deactivate" an inspection that is no longer relevant. Receiving trip data is dependent upon the module getting connected to a cellular network and being able to offload all the data. A couple things

I’m sure there is a plethora of areas you programmers are asked to work on.
The inspections page is useful but please remove the 25 hour inspection. It is used ONCE during break in. It does not need a reminder.
I don’t know how to program, but I do know that when an app update is done, I find it annoying to look up my log in info.
If there is a plan to somehow monetize this app in the future, please limit it to the utilization area where the people who need shiny things to look at are willing to pay.

Pilot

Huge disappointment. The updated app is just as slow and clunky as the previous version. Slow to sync, often fails and has to be reloaded, and brings about a parasite drain on the plane battery if setup for continuous monitoring. Believe better should be expected from a company like Cirrus.

Response from developer

Cirrus IQ is a smart system that shuts down when a certain battery threshold is reached. Further battery drain comes from the keyless entry system, similar to automobiles that sit for a long time without being driven. Cirrus IQ only sends data after shutting down from a flight, or when a user requests a Remote Sync - data is not sent any other time. No longer syncs

The old app was clunky but worked. The new app looks nicer and has a few more features. But you can no longer delete an inspection reminder (come on, it’s just an editing function like you had in the previous version). And most importantly, I can no longer access real time data on the plane remotely. The sync function doesn’t work.

Great Companion to the Plane

This is a great companion app to my Cirrus SR22T. It keeps getting better, and they’ve just added life-limited parts timers to it. Really like the app a lot!

Wow - BIG IMPROVEMENT

Love love love the Approach Score feature! And I can upload my flight log directly into the FlySto app 🤯

It’s 2025. Cirrus should expect more

As someone who truly values the innovation Cirrus brings to aviation, I’m consistently disappointed by their digital offerings. In 2025, when seamless, intuitive digital experiences and apps are a commodity and the norm, Cirrus’ feels outdated, clunky, buggy and lacking in usability.

The entire digital experience, seems more focused on maintaining brand aesthetics than delivering practical, reliable features. not what you expect from a brand synonymous with cutting-edge aviation.

Noone assumes or expects Cirrus to be building these digital experiences in house. There are countless vendors who could deliver a superior user experience, yet Cirrus appears to be settling for subpar solutions and partners. Whoever is responsible for choosing and managing these tech partnerships is missing the mark.

Cirrus leads the way in aircraft innovation, but their digital tech desperately needs to catch up. I hope they take a more strategic approach to their digital platforms and prioritize usability over aesthetics moving forward.

All new - totally different

This has been completely overhauled and is so much better than before. 9/10, well done Cirrus!

Latest update is not good

I know the team put a lot of effort to revamp the app, but I’m hard pressed to find anything good about it. Frankly speaking, I don’t think this is the right direction for the app.

1. Scoring landings or recording CAS alerts is probably not the right focus for the app; as Cirrus pilots we get all that and way more from FlySto. Cirrus is unlikely to ever do better job at this than FlySto so introducing features that are already available at FlySto is basically pointless. If you want to pursue that direction, then consider integrating with FlySto rather than replicating some of its features. For example, I’d like that all flights get automatically uploaded to FlySto without having to pull the SD card. That is something I’d be willing to pay a subscription for, not the current feature set.

2. As a Cirrus owner, the only things I want from this app is to give me accurate airplane status (fuel, oxygen, TKS etc), keep track of maintenance events and getting help from CSC or field service. Everything else is superfluous. Sadly, the app today doesn’t do very good job reporting status. On many occasions the data does not reflect reality. For example, my plane is in KDLH right now, I know it was topped off, and was power cycled an run, and yet the app still shows fuel status from prior shutdown.

3. In terms of information design, the current update is a regression from previous version. There’s no reason to have Aircraft Menu that shows 4 options; all those could be displayed in the Tab bar at the bottom.

4. Utilization section is not useful and I’m genuinely curious if anyone from Cirrus actually tried to even use it. It breaks in the most basic scenarios, for example - tap on a flight, select the pilot for the the flight, then see the “Pilot updated successfully” overlay - this is crazy - you don’t need such an overlay, nobody does these kind of overlays in modern apps; especially ones which you need to explicitly dismiss by tapping the X button. This indicates to me that whoever worked on that part literally didn’t know what they were doing, and didn’t even do basic usability testing on this.

Overall, very disappointing.

Great concept, sketchy execution?

App seems to crash a lot and needs to be reinstalled. The real problem tho is with the overall system. An SF50 parked in a metal hanger seems to run its battery down trying to establish an uplink. This results in a CAS msg emergency TO bat which prevents takeoff until battery is recharged. This delay negates any convenience of knowing my fuel level remotely

Joe

I find it a great AP if it worked. It doesn’t work more than it does. Cirrus really doesn’t have any answers. Right now when I need it, it doesn’t work, it updates and then won’t allow me to view it, so what’s the point

Good app - needs easy login

I like the app and try to use it to check in on the status of the plane more often before a flight. Problem is that I’m always logged out and have to find the login credentials. Two recommendations- automatic log out time is too short and the app needs FaceId or an easier login save credentials feature.

Constantly having to log back in

Glitchy app. Seems to always be shutting down and requiring a log back in. Then won’t accept my information and kicks me out to 10-1013 error. Always on a weekend too with no support!

Please update! App crashes with latest iOS!!

When you click Details, app crashes! Has for more than a month. I'm on iphone 13 pro and latest version of iOS.

Hitting "Details" crashes!

I can't look at my fuel status or maintenance anymore. App just crashes! Please fix.
