Store passwords, passports, identity cards, driving licences and other important documents entirely on your own device. Nothing is synchronized automatically. Nothing is uploaded to external servers. Nothing leaves your iPhone unless you decide it should. **Why CLAUS when there’s already Passwords?** CLAUS was created to cover a different use case: the person who prefers a manager completely independent of their Apple ID, without automatic synchronization, without data ever leaving the device, and with the ability to give the app a completely hidden appearance that is different from its functionality. If someone picks up your phone and sees the app, they might think it's your calculator, calendar, or notes. Only you know what's inside. Plus, the app automatically closes after a period of inactivity, the length of which you can define in the app's settings. --- **Total discretion** Change the title and home screen image to make the app look like anything else. No one who looks at your phone without permission will be able to guess that it is an app where you store your valuable passwords. --- **Security without compromise** CLAUS protects your passwords using iOS hardware encryption. All data is stored with Apple's Data Protection framework, which encrypts the database with AES-256 backed by the device's Secure Enclave. Your passwords are inaccessible when the device is locked. Access to the app requires Face ID or Touch ID. If the phone is inactive, the app closes itself and returns to the home screen. --- **Encrypted backups under your control** Make encrypted (AES-256) backups of your entire database and save them wherever you want: iCloud Drive, a local disk, a USB, wherever you decide. Restore them with a password.
