Truly horrible, even worse customer service
The Common App is unhelpful, inflexible, and outdated. Their method of making students send a message out to access customer service is ineffective as they don't respond. Simple mistakes are not properly handled and overall my journey with this app has been stress-inducing and nerve-wracking. I wouldn't recommend this to a student who desperately needs to complete their college apps as any road bumps are not tended to. Decisions as simple as not locking students into verification, responding to messages, or giving a number of contacts could help enormously. Many students have complained about the outdated system of this program and yet their opinions have been neglected. Use at your own risk.

A waste of time
When I tried to create an account, it said there was already an account in the system, when I go to check for an account, there’s nothing. When I go to login into an account, it keeps saying the account information is wrong. this is ridiculous and a waste of my time. Never again

I got rejected from Harvard but my mom was going to let me attend anyway. I had a great gpa and asvab test score and only 1 in school suspension. Triible app. SCAM BEWARE!!
Don’t use this app
This sucks. I applied to 3 colleges in one day on their specific websites, and the common app has taken 5 weeks and I haven’t finished. I do NOT recommend using this for college apps. It’s better through respective websites.

Did all of the work to set up my application and it didn’t even have my selected college as an option, all the work was useless.
APP DONT WORK
Everytime I click to login it takes me to safari. There is no point in this APP on the cellular device if it wants me to do everything on a search engine. Waste of time

I downloaded this app not even a day ago, and i added all my information, including my number. i created the account and left, i didn’t even set up anything in it and THE NEXT DAY AKA TODAY i’ve received over 20 spam calls and it’s only 4 my time, I know it was them because this is my NEW number that i’ve never received no spam on whatsoever in the past month, but as soon as i download the app i get flooded with them ???

I tried to make an account but it required that I enter my college essay so I figured I could just leave and enter it later but apparently it doesn’t save anything unless you submit all information at once. Bad app
App keeps logging me out..
I have my account on the common app website and decided to get the app for on the go situations. Now when I try to log in.. before I even type in my email (literally 2 letters).. the screen goes white and then the app never works again. I’ve tried redownloading the app 5 times and it’s the exact same thing happening over and over.

If you are applying to a school I would suggest just applying in their website. I had downloaded the app so I could access and check my status whenever, but I haven’t been able to even log in. It give me a blank screen and the page doesn’t load… just do it online.

This app does not load. Just use the common app website the app is a waste of time.
White blank page
I don’t know why, but every time I try to open up common app it shows a white blank page. I have been trying for 2 weeks and it still shows the white page same with on google and safari. I don’t know if it doesn’t work for certain types of phones or if it is an error in the app. I am trying to apply for early action for college and this issue is making it difficult to.

Horrible experience!
I have used the common app to apply to many colleges. One in particular I had to pay $50 to apply. After waiting a day or so I contacted the college to make sure they got the application and they said that they do not use common app applications anymore and to contact them for a refund. I emailed the common app support and they told me they can not refund me even though it did not make it to my college!!! Absolutely ridiculous that they have a no refund policy after all the money they take from broke college students even if the application doesn’t even reach the destination. Ridiculous!!!
